I love Nintendo for what they are rather than for what they choose not to become. I see PS4 and Xbox as two identical systems with the only major difference being controller preference. Exclusives matter, but many of them tend to cross systems or go to PC given enough time -- which never happens with Nintendo games.
Nintendo is different, that's how I like them. Sure they could have released a more powerful system, but the games they specialize in don't really need it. I admit that it makes it tough for some people, in that you may be compelled to buy 2 systems since Nintendo can't give you everything you need, but that is no problem for me.
@BladeOverload - I agree with you because to be truthful if i can find ten great games on any console it's worth a buy to me. And most consoles have 10 great games.
@Necrotron - And I understand that. However, it's not just KH1 remastered. It's 3 games for cheap. I feel like each game for $13 offsets whatever points it may lose from being old. That being said, I just bought 385/2 days, 3 years ago, for 35 bucks for my DS.
@abHS4L88 - There are so many good games on the regular DS, you could spend years going back and playing the DS back library. I have 23 3DS games & about a 130 DS games as of now. Hard to pick just 5 lets say, but I loved: Super Princess Peach, the 3 Castlevania titles, Magical Starsign, The Legendary Starfy, and Nanostray.
@abHS4L88 - For me it's kind of simple why I still love Nintendo, it's the nostalgia. Every time I play their games I smile & laugh and in general feel like I'm 6 again. Not much can do that for me anymore. I'm not about to bust out the action figures, and watching cartoons just isn't the same anymore :)
I know they have been struggling with their consoles since the N64, but they own the handheld market. They lost 20% of their market share to mobile devices, and another 10-15% of their customers to Sony. Yet they still dominate. Their handheld games are SO good --- that I sometimes play them over my consoles when I'm at home.
Nintendo is a great company, I don't know why hating on Nintendo became the cool new thing to do. They have contributed so much to gaming. I don't agree with everything they do, but I still support them.
