@ netherscourge your three points are all good for why one would play consoles over pc's, but there is one more. you can rent console games, while your only pc options are to buy or steal.

most importantly, fix the first analog stick! its too low and frustrating for anyone without the hands of 14 year old chinese gymnast!

and i wish the xbox 360 had load times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would pay extra $ for just mass effect to install on HDD so i didnt have elevator scenes as long, tearing, and texture pop-in all the time. i love that game and i love the 360, but games should have an hdd install on the 360. the only reason they dont is because microsoft disingenously sells a crippled 360 with no HDD then gives these tard packs fancy names like "core" and "arcade"

to those of you who are mad that gamespot even did this article, you are missing the point. at some point in the future, it will be a good idea to slap an ssd into a ps3. this article demonstrates that time is not now. and to those arguing about rrod rates, all of the sources ive seen other than microsoft have shown between 1/3 and 1/4. i have only had to replace mine once. and for fallenangel, who hasnt replaced his, good for you. between myself and my xbox friends, only one of us has not had to replace his. (and he is the slob who treats his the most carelessly . . . go figure)

I agree that comparing exclusives is the fairer way, though it is harder. and its true most of these games were developed on the 360 and ported to PS3, but Im afraid that seems likely to continue because it seems to be easier to go from 360 to PS3 than the other way around. I too have all 3 consoles and it makes me laugh when fanboys of one console call themselves serious gamers. If you can get the money you should have all three. If you cant get the money yet you should be saving to get the others unless you have little kids or are one yourself. You are a simp if you badmouth the consoles you dont have. The health of all 3 consoles is the best thing that can happen. Its the reason games make more money than movies, and the reason GTA4 is so huge. There has never been a better time to be a gamer than the last 18 months, and its because all three consoles are competitive.
