i bought a ps3 and sold my 360. I loved the 360 but i felt id seen everything it could do. Its doing really well at the moment but there's something more exicting about the future for the ps3. Also my warranty had just ended, i was already on my 3rd 360 and everyone i knew who bought a launch console had theirs fail. Microsoft ask for £90 if its out of warranty and still won't admit that there is a problem. I decided altho there wasnt quite enough out for the ps3 yet it was time to sell the 360 before it bricked. There's still not quite enough out for it but that looks like its all about to change.....particularly the online with Home.

has anyone got dvd/ps2 upsacling to 720p or 1080i? ive only heard reports of it working on 1080p altho the press release states upsacling UP TO 1080p. that seems to imply 720p and 1080i upscaling. unfortunately it wont work on mine, just goes to a blank screen

thanks for the response guys. after much searching, i discovered that my screen does not support hdcp. I think BDs have the option of flagging for HDCP and the only one i have is casino royale so maybe that ones compoatible on non-HDCP screens. All the games work fine tho up to 1080i. I also read that the update uses HDCP for upscaling as this is apprantly a requirement. If anyone else has an 'older' TV that is non HDCP, b4 you throw it away, have a look at www.hdfury.com .

you can do it by having windows media player 11 on your pc. You'll need to allow sharing thru wmp11 on the pc then search for servers on the ps3

Hi There I've recently updated my ps3 and firstly was pleased to see that blu-ray now scales to 720p yay However, whenever i try the ps2 upscale feature or dvd upscale my monitor says 'not support'. Is this an HDCP issue. Im not sure if my LCD screen supports it or not and its an oem type screen so not sure where to look. I did think that as blu rays play at 720p that it is hscp compliant but im not sure if its used for that. Anyway, my screen supports 720p/1080i (768 native verticle res). My ps3 is connected with an HDMI to DVI lead (screen has no HDMI) Any help on clearing these muddy AV issues would be much appreciated cheers
