Holy S%^& M$, you are really reaching for anything are you? Next X1 posting will read, "M$ encourages cat owners to purchase an Xbox one, because warm boxes make a great napping spot for cozy kittens."
I've read a couple of articles lately stating how M$ was looking to implement a Steam-like box with X1 and their former policies. Personally I find it hard to believe that M$ would've given consumers sales at the level that Steam offers. But if that was their intention, explain to me why a multibillion dollar company can't think of a way to market that to consumers. Putting the words Steam and Xbox in the same sentence would've been more appealing to me (and I'm sure to many gamers) than anything they've shown with X1 so far. Any failures they have with X1 as a result of the alienation they've made gamers feel is M$ fault. But hey, if by some miracle M$ manages to copy Steam (in a good way of course) then maybe an X1 will be a future purchase.
@da_chub Don't bother expecting SE to do anything that fans would want. If you want VII in HD, the mod community has already done a good job, and it's better work than anything you can expect from SE.
If you're a long time FF fan, this shouldn't surprise you any more than any of the other disappointing things SE has done for years now. They don't cater to us anymore and they obviously don't care what we're interested in. FF is dead. If anything, just keep hope that Sakaguchi will keep giving us games like The Last Story, because that carries on the esscence of what FF was more than anything SE will ever do. If you really want a VII remake, the mod community has already done some beautiful work that I imagine is better than anything SE would do with a VII remake (finally no block hands for Cloud!). Honestly I'm scared to think what redesign direction SE would go if they did a VII remake. If you've managed to find some joy out of SE's latest releases then more power to you, I certainly don't knock you. But as a long time FF fan, SE and FF are dead to me, and I don't have any intention of spending a single penny on a company that doesn't give its fans what they want. If you're a longtime fan that keeps having hope, you need to wake up already and realize that FF is never going to be what you want it to be ever again.
@ExcaliburEdge I'd sooner pray for the means to enter an alternate reality where he never left SE, and kept FF epic. I think the best we can hope for now is that he keeps making games like The Last Story, because that's more FF than anything SE makes now.
@RAD_RADIO @xX_MOBIUS1_Xx I don't want it to be, but yeah, it's totally dead. I only cringed my way through XIII because as a hardcore FF fan, I always feel the obligation to finish it. Now SE can't even make me feel obligated to buy their games out of a bargain bin for a penny.
@swinehouse I mentioned the same thing in another post; that I can feel the absence of Sakaguchi from everything SE does now. The Last Story was the last real FF I played. SE doesn't understand anymore what FF has been or what it should be.
