I agree with you to an extent. Much of the required curricullum is fairly pointless and will be forgotton in a matter of months. However, both the electives I took in high school and the major courses I'm currently taking are turning out to be quite informative and interesting. If you can find an area of study that really piques your interest, school becomes much more bearable.

Well with your height/weight, you're off the low end of the BMI chart. So I'm guessing it's probably healthiest to bulk up a bit.

I don't know anything about Japanese, I'm afriad. . .it's such a complicated language.Theokhoth

I wouldn't say it's any more complicated than English. It's just a whole lot harder to learn for us, as opposed to other European languages, because it's so different.

I plan on going to the movie, but to be perfectly honest, I think they've beaten this particular "Clone War" story arc into the ground. If only someone would expand beyond the episode I-VI timeline, new breath might be given to the series.

[QUOTE="mrbojangles25"][QUOTE="helium_flash"]

The entire post-high school education system is messed up. Tuition is crazy high. Here are my credentials:

  • 3.45 GPA
  • #2 on Tennis Team (#3 Junior Year)
  • Varsity Math Club for Junior/Senior year
  • 40 hours community service
  • Army child
  • Lived in three countries
  • Honor Roll throughout HS
  • Have taken multiple advanced classes

And I was denied to one choice and Wait Listed for the my top choices. I had to settle for some no-name college. I'm pissed. I bet if I wasn't a white, male, I'd have a full ride scholarship.

How were your SAT/ACT scores? Also, if you dont mind, what colleges did you apply to?

I think that plays a far greater role than high schools will lead you to believe. Throughout high school you're told being involved in clubs, the community, sports, and the school in general will look good. Which is true.

But some loner with a higher SAT than an overachiever who feeds the poor and delivers babies, will more likely get accepted into a better school.

Yeah, I feel like my SAT score was the only reason I did as well as I did college-wise. I'm a bit of a slacker, so my grades weren't as good as they could have been.

Interesting. I have similar credentials (If anything, yours are better), but I was accepted everywhere I applied, including a pretty prestigious school. And I'm a white male as well.

You don't know the capabilities of fruit until you've had an orange straight from the orchard. Prolly the one thing I miss about living in Florida. Storebought just doesn't cut it.
