Hopefully Disney gets their shitty marvel audience for the new "Star Wars sagas" because the real fans will not be watching any of this garbage you're trying to feed us twice a year like your fucking marvel movies. And Jesus Christ... announcing a new saga already when this one isn't even done.. and 3 more spin offs, two of which have no reason to be made into films. Disney is torturing Star Wars fans and ruining their own reputation. Go back to making cartoons Disney. It's what you're good at.

I'm a big fan of open world and an even bigger metal gear solid fan. Both mgs4 and 5 got largely criticized for being bad games despite their scores by these sites.
I'll start by stating the games that should and shouldn't be on this list.
Shouldn't: tony hawk 3. Every tony hawk should have received a 10 by gamespots statement that this game built on 1 and 2. 4 was far better than 3 and underground 1 and 2 were amazing too. After That.. meh.
Journey: self explanatory. It's a damn hour long game that people try to philosophize into being something it's not.

Mgs1: because I'm a fanboy. Best video game villians/boss fights ever.

Final fantasy 6: one of the best rpgs of all time. If chrono cross made it, why not ff6? Beats me.
Mgs rant for peeps who shit on mgs 4 for being on the list:
Let me break it down with an unbiased stance. Mgs4 was a defining moment for the franchise. It was the end. Anyone who played all the games would see how much of an emotional nostalgic rollercoaster the game was. Yes, The Cutscenes were too long. But the cutscenes were well needed for the story to unfold, plus the gameplay was AMAZING. It was a giant technical achievement at the time and there never was a better looking last gen game than mgs4. (Maybe the last of us.. eh maybe) but It deserved a 10/10 easily.
Mgs5 on the otherhand.. doesn't deserve this rating. It wasn't memorable. Where mgs4 almost had too much story, mgs5 lacked much story at all... it didn't close the gap between mgs1 and mgs3 as promised, it just made everything more convoluted with its strange, series changing plot twist. The gameplay is what earned the rating gamespot gave it. It is still by far the best stealth action game ever made and totally genre defining gameplay wise. No other game allows you such freedom to perform a mission in hundreds of different ways. But it was an incomplete game. The ending was so shallow and felt empty. Hence the title the phantom pain. I believe everyone felt it after playing this.
Gamespots 10 for mgs5 was noneother than a nod to the developer that was kicked out of konomi for making this game. And a dis to konami for doing so. It deserved a 9. It was an outstanding game but not a masterpiece like mgs4, ocarina of time, etc.

Kinda wishing I wasn't such be a die hard mass effect fan because I still feel like picking it up.
The dialog and character part kills me because that's what invested me in the series to begin with. You couldn't ask for better supporting characters than tally and Garrus. There's always been characters i could give 2 shits about in the series but it's the few that mattered.
I'm pretty bummed out over all of this. I was hoping first impressions would turn for the better but I digress.
Aside from animations and technical flaws, do you think it'd be worth it to play? I was a fan of mass effect 3 combat so I think I'd love the combat in this.
However.. I want a decent story. I want choices to feel like they have somewhat of an impact. I want character developement and deep backstories. I want a mass effect game at the core. Does it hit at all on these levels?
