@Thanatos2k: When you rent something it means you pay a fixed amount every month and lose access when you stop.

So yes paying for a pro subscription "is" renting but you are not buying these games, the same applies to game pass, PSnow, and games with gold.

When you BUY a game on stadia you DO NOT need to keep paying it's a one-off purchase just like any other digital store.

When I was younger most people actually did rent games this was when you went to the local rental shop and paid X amount for 5 days of access before returning.

@tOrchie: Steam has been operating for how many years?

When steam was "new" like stadia it took them years to gain as many games as stadia currently has and people hated it, you may not remember but I do and steam got so much hate and backlash, not even game publishers wanted anything to do with them.

@Thanatos2k: I have a library on steam full of games I will never touch again, I have an Xbox account full of games I will never touch again and now I have a stadia account full of games I will never touch again.

Most people never play a game past completion with the only games that have long staying power being online multiplayer where you are just as reliant on the multiplayer server as any other service.

You use what works for you and let others use what works for them

@Pyrosa: Game state's do not save or overite your local save its a quick snapshot that's designed to be played once or over and over again until complete without interfering with your local game sp there would be zero gains to be had from "buying" a game state.
