@darkranger23: Actually you're right, the entire reason Bran has the mark is because the Night King sensed him during a warging session.

@02050muh: Personally I loved the dark imagery. I didn't have trouble seeing what was happening, I think it just depends on your display. I bet it looked amazing for people with OLED tvs.

@Pyrosa: which acting did you find terrible? I've rewatched game of thrones, definitely love how the last thing ned says to jon is that they will talk about jons mother next time they meet. I don't think I've ever thought anyone's acting on this show was bad though. On the contrary I think this show has had an amazing array of actors, pretty much all of them seem to be great imo.

I think the only legitimate complaint I've seen is Bran warging for too long which seemed to serve little to no purpose. Not really a big deal. Everything else is whining about things not going the way the viewer imagined.

This is by far the whiniest review I've ever seen, and all criticism is based on what the reviewer wanted to happen. The reviewer is behaving as though he has the authority to tell his readers what this show is "really" about. "Game of Thrones was never supposed to actually be about the battle for the throne--it's supposed to be about the characters coming together to realize what was really important.".

The arrogance.

"The battle wasn't even that cool" more overly subjective language.

"Bran did nothing" it was his plan to draw the night king out and isolate him. Bran had a direct role in the night kings death just by coming up with the plan and putting himself out as bait. The only weird thing about Bran was his warging into the birds for seemingly no reason.

"Theon dies for nothing" are you serious? He was clearly buying time and every second counted.

"the Night King took the bait at Winterfell and died like an idiot. He took his entire race with him, and we never learned anything about them besides "White Walkers=bad."

The Night King is basically a force of nature, why does he have to be an intellectual? He didn't take his "race" with him, they aren't a race so much as a construct of magic. Every wight and white walker were just an extension of the Night King. We never learned anything about them? we learned they were a mistake and a weapon created by the children that became out of control.

Seriously, is this reviewer just trolling? I mean, don't get me wrong, GRRM will do a much better job if he gets to finish his books, but my god man.... learn to enjoy things. Most of these complaints are petty or illogical.

"the Night King and all his generals didn't hear the young woman sneaking up on them through the snow" actually they clearly did hear her but it was too late, also battles are pretty loud I imagine and provide a lot of noise pollution. Btw did you know that Arya trained with the faceless men to become a sneaky assassin? I would bet that entails learning how to.... sneak... quietly.... like a cat.. wait did she also study cats and learn from trying to catch them before she trained with the assassins? oh... yeah she did huh.

"What if Arya employs her Faceless Men magic to pose as Bran. Bran stabs the Night King, removes his face, bam, it's Arya." IN WHAT WORLD IS THAT BETTER THAN WHAT HAPPENED? That would have been stupid.

"What was the point of Melisandre's entire storyline" I feel like this is already evident... she's the one who brought Jon back................................... -_- She slowed the undead advance significantly by lighting the trench. She set in motion many events as an agent of the fire god.

"it feels like it was written by somebody who's never seen the show before, much less has any understanding of the source material" soooooo ironic.

I will admit the Dothraki charge was stupid and tactless, our heroes have never once been perfect. Jon's my favorite character, the world would be a better place if people would follow Jon and Ned's examples of honor, but Jon isn't that smart. Dany needs to learn how to chill, but she still freed the slaves.

There's a huge theme of a greater plan by the lord of light whom we have no reason to doubt exists thanks to even Sandor Clegane seeing his visions in the flame, and he's the entity that was called upon when resurrecting Jon and Beric. You seem to have missed that. Everything seems to be happening for a reason, Jon's reason for being resurrected doesn't seem to have been fulfilled yet either.

@Chutebox: You're acting like you know the ins and outs of GRRM's personal life and you don't, you have no idea why he does what he does. Even worse you are one of the many people who are upset with him because you think he owes you more when he doesn't owe you a damn thing, you're just behaving entitled and pathetic. It's funny that people are mad at him for not rushing his own creative process just because HBO wanted to move forward, very idiotic.

@SinspaW: "This episode is actually a terrific exercise to distinguish the average viwer who has no capacity for critical thinking." You're not an intellectual, you're just pretentious. You people are throwing a tantrum over things not going the way you wanted them to.

This review shows that Gamespot should just stick to games. Everyone crying because this didn't go the way they envisioned or because they either have a crappy TV or don't know how to change the settings on it.
