I Swear I Have Original Ideas For Games
I think Xbox Live should be pushing for a wider range of 2-D games for Xbox Live Arcade. It seems today that the majority of successful action games on the 360 have been First-Person Shooters. To me, it seems wasteful to let people forget that the biggest first person shooter of all time "Doom" was born a very primitive 2-D game, when you look at the latest Xbox Live Arcade game's ability to not only deliver gorgeous graphics and colors, but fluid controls and realistic physics. A 2-D first-person shooter with the possibility of online multiplayer seems like a no-brain-er for any developer in this day and age when there is obviously a market for competitive players and passive players alike. The only catch is, the developers would have to reinvent first-person shooters with either the story, atmosphere, weapons/systems, enemy AI, or a totally original art style and presentation.

a test run: MICROSOFT! pay rare for exclusive DOOM remake (updated graphics/textures) for XBL Arcade and press hard for multiplayer so you can use doom 2 levels as multiplayer packs, line it up close behind DOOM 4

Give me a job i can do this all day!
HAHAHAHA!
HERE'S WHAT I DONT UNDERSTAND... why is microsoft taking heat because they went to the next gen first and had the foresight to throw an hd dvd player option on their system...a money grab/rip-off or not it honestly was a much more risky endevor than ps3's power or the wii's originality back in 04-05 because noone really knew how hd dvd or blu ray sales would pan out so hd dvd was the more obvious choice at the time for the format the 360 would run on. so its like blamming the US for using 8 cylinder engines through the 60's and 70's even though 4 & 6 cylinder "technology" was starting to be applied and produced more and more...giving a big shiny medal to the ps3 for choosing bluray after the fact was getting more aparent that it is a better format for another day is as unfair as saying sony using the bluray on the ps3 largely decided the outcome of the war and destiny of hd dvd more than paramount pictures contract talks with toshiba/bluray.
BUT in all of this defense of microsoft...WE need EXCLUSIVES! Remind me why i bought a 360, and i dont wanna hear that it plays better on the 360 because that should be a given by now microsoft has had more time on their console and there should be no reason that any multiplatform game should playbetter on a ps3 or a wii! so again, from a consumer standpoint...i am jealous that ps3 got bioshock(only on windows/360) and it is sounding near impossible that we'll see MGS or uncharted on 360...so i think microsoft needs to simultaneously do 2 things to at least keep up with the ps3...1. imitate what xbox did as far as giving gamers more reasons to buy this platform with different types of games they havent seen or titles they were not expecting but are still interested in (the original xbox did one thing better than the ps2 and thats give gamers all kinds of games at a higher rate than the other system)2. do what they do best..swipe and swindel old/er franchises, reinvent them and make them exclusives especially older playstation 1 &2 titles that are not in use...when i was a ps2 owner it seemed like the xbox had more of the games that hadnt gotten a stamp already put on them for some feature in the game thats an extention or hybrid of a feature in another game and now the roles have changed...and the 360 will have to just flat out make better games with what its got like the ps2 did to the xbox, sort-of destroying the myth of the more powerful the system the better, and just out manuver the big ps3 exclusives. once again make the ps3 owners deep pockects echo with jealousy for games with "XBOX ONLY" not just slighty better versions of the same game everyone else is playing
