@jinzo9988: Nintendo has Nintendo Direct, Xbox has Inside Xbox and had its own X019 event, but they both are still participating in E3. It doesn't make any sense for Sony to skip the biggest gaming event of the year...

I'm afraid they're making the same mistake with the naming that Wii U made. I myself even thought that this is a current gen upgrade to the One X...

@chubby170: The install does not depend on the games availability on the digital store, it is downloaded from the corresponding distributor's servers. I remember Forza Horizons 2 has been pulled from the Xbox store, however if you have it purchased, you can still download and play fine. They are not taking away games from your digital library.

Console discs are blu-ray and can fit up to 50 GB of files. The rest must be downloaded as updates. It depends on the game.

@chubby170: If they are no longer available on the digital store, but you have made a purchase in the past, you can still download and play as you hold the license.

I don’t think they have ever completely removed any games from any system, but if they did you wouldn’t be able to install from the disc either, as it holds a license to play the game and only a portion of install files of which the rest are downloaded. You don’t fully own the game content on the physical copy either. The debate of physical vs digital only concerns where your permission to play the game is being stored.

@chubby170: Being digital means your licenses to play are tied to your account rather than physical discs. But you do own the license in both ways.

@sbargovox3: Well cloud gaming is going to work like Netflix and Xbox Game Pass. They don't sell digital goods, they provide a service and can remove the content whenever they want. I don't see them selling access to individual games to be played in the cloud, but rather a library of games.

I don't see a problem here, as, if you want to own the license to a digital good, you buy it. If you want to use a streaming service, you use it and pay subscription for it. Nobody is taking away the choice from the consumer.

@wtf_666: If they shut down the server/game you are only left with a worthless disc anyway. With a disc you are only holding the license to use the game just as much as you would with a digital copy or subscription. You never really 'own' anything.

I personally would rather pay a subscription for a library of games instead of buying physical copies of online-only games that would be dead in 2 years.

It is because the market is oversaturated with multiplayer looter shooters. How many of them can people play at once considering the way they are designed to keep players committed for 2-3 years? People would rather play something like Destiny 2, that's why Anthem and Division 2 are not doing so well with their ridiculous 60$ price tags...

@Richardthe3rd: Are you kidding me? 2014 movie would have been shit if it wasn't Jolie. Her performance was credited as almost the sole reason the movie was successful.
