@mrbojangles25: Let's just hope Cyberpunk won't be to CD Project Red what Diablo 3 was to Blizzard. 10+ years of waiting for a pretty bad game.

Witcher 3 was first Witcher game. Put it down to play MGS and never went back. BIG MISTAKE. Quite possibly the best game I've ever played.

Used to think games like Xenogears and FFT were my favorite RPGS. Nope.
Used to think games like Skyrim and Grand Theft Auto 5 were my favorite open world games. Nope.

Can't wait for this game! Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13 was a disaster. I need a good strategy game.

Curious...Anyone here play Orion or Stellaris? They are pretty good too.

@beirutchamp: I agree. It's sad that Vagrant Story never got a sequel. I wanted to see what happened with Ashley Riot. Would have been cool to see him pop up in 12 (also set in Invalice).

@RabbiSchmuley: Funny you should mention that. I was watching Evangelion when I first tried Xenogears. Original Evangelion is still my favorite anime.

Square dumps a lot of story on you the second half of Xenogears. There's a few youtube vids out there that helps explain things if you get confused.

Pretty clear a lot of people on this forum really dig the story elements in Final Fantasy. Consider playing the following classics:

Xenogears (prob my favorite story in a game, ever)
Vagrant Story (sin that we never got a sequel)
Valkyrie Profile (game play is shallow but story is great)
Suikoden (play this before 2)
Suikoden 2 (best in series; one of the best RPGs ever)
Suikoden 3 (one of the best RPGs for PS2)
Suikoden 5 (if you liked the other Suikodens you should like this, starts REALLY slow)

@kazeswen: I agree and was surprised. The whole sequence leading up to that was tragic: Rinoa gets exiled to the moon, gets possessed, then frees Adel from her tomb.
Was sad when I was shown how Laguna lost so much but it paled in comparison.

@Coseniath: Since you brought up FF...the saddest part about that game was getting deep into the final dungeon, only to be insta wiped by 4x Frost/Poison Dragons.
