The game is good, IF, you love the original and want some nostalgia, but really its gameplay has not really stood up to the test of time. Its old style gameplay is old, tired and has been reused time and time and time again. So if nostalgia is not enough to make you enjoy a game, then you might want to skip this one.

but again with the genesis version its mostly just grinding, I spent hours delivering packages for mr gunderson just so I could get enough money for a decent gun, armor and cyberdeck so that I could then grind more easy runs in seattle so I could save up for better guns, cyberware and cyberdecks which I then used to grind harder runs for top of the line gear so that I could finish the 2-3 hour storyline.

I disagree, I found the snes combat was pretty lame even in its time, it was just awkward and most of the game was just running into a room shooting up guys exiting the room then going back into the room shooting up respawned guys rinse and repeat til you get some karma.

you can play offline, i have been playing offline, however to download user created content you do need to log into steam to download it and there is no charge for the user created stuff either. Basically steam just makes it so pirated copies don't get all the cool stuff the people who actually are supporting these small indie devs get.

So first thing I wanna say is yes the current campaign is kind of short, HOWEVER, I think alot of people think that this is only a game. Its not, its also got a built in editor for creating your own campaign, which means more free campaigns as people create them, this is basically a cyberpunk turn based version of Neverwinter Nights. To this very day people are still playing Neverwinter Nights because people are still making their own adventures so the campaigns are limitless. Graphically the game is nothing special, its an isometric view like the old snes game but with more better resolution and more neon lights. Sound is fantastic, love the music score fits the cyberpunk feel of the sprawl perfectly. Gameplay, combat is very similar to X-Com enemy unknown, its turn based where you are allowed so many actions per turn, you can take cover behind objects to lower the percentage chance of an enemy hitting you as well as they can take cover as well to lower you chances. In conversations you get multiple choices on how to answer, this hasn't been utilized to its fullest yet hopefully some user created content will take better advantage of this opportunity. Customization, there are many ways to customize you character not so much in how he/she looks (although there is some customization there) but more in how they play. When you first start out you choose a basic archetype like a street samurai or a decker, rigger, shaman etc, but from there once you start playing you place Karma points into skills you want to improve, so if you want to be a street samurai who can also toss fireballs you can, or if you want to be a rigger who is also a proficient computer hacker you can be. Overall I am very happy with this game and am so excited to see what the gaming community will deliver for user created content, cause I believe that just like Neverwinter Nights the best stories won't come from the devs, but from the creative minds of the gamers themselves.

reviews can't really be based on the comedy though as jokes don't go over the same with everyone. Some people who love this genre will still hate this game cause of its crappy controls and camera angles because the jokes mean nothing to them as they don't like this style of humor.

while I love the jokes, the gameplay is atrocious compared to all the other brawlers like Ninja Gaiden Bayonetta and DMC so I would say a 6 at best, I can't give a game a good score based on humor since everyones humor is different. I hate Monte Python for example while others love it, I love family guy while others think its juvenile. But I can rate the controls and camera angles and they are not very good.

there is already info about it, its not an mmo like most people think with thousands of people in one gameworld it would only be 16 in each game world

[QUOTE="stan_boyd"]I disagree with survivors taking vehicles to get supplies as they could dmg and wreck them and there is a finite supply of vehicles. I also disagree with being able to put rucksacks into the back of a truck as that would make gathering supplies WAY to easy.uneedanewcolon

well they do take ammo and wapons supply  right now.  i mean, i have 3 police cruiser parked, and 2 more cars in fornt of the base and scavangers dont use them i just call it "natural selection". oh no wait, i have to stop doing my scavanging to rescue them from the horde they just walked into.

same goes with the truck, its not easier just more logic.

So being able to take muliple bags isn't easier just more logical? so does that mean when you grab muliple bags you still actually get the same amount of supplies as if you only grabbed 1 bag of supplies? cause otherwise yes it would be easier and then you wouldn't really need to scavenge very often which is a large portion of the game.
