FF10 was the start of the end for the series. it became too linear and not enough exploration. It did have good parts like blitzball and the leveling up system, but the game itself was too much like an interactive movie I found.

I completely agree with this.

The diffent stories, characters, and atmospheres has always been welcome. Pay attention to the reviews. They all mention the same exact things that are missing that have been there from the beginning almost. Explorable towns, different shops to find with different weapons and items, interactivity with all the townspeople, sidequests, an explorable world map with tons of secret locations and treasures to be discovered, an airship towards the end of the game that allows you to explore the world freely, a deep leveling system that gives you full control of how each character plays, the ability to choose and control your entire party during battle..... C'mon, if you don't know what I'm referring to then you aren't much of a fan of RPGs in general.

I totally agree with this guy. Anyone who says different clearly hasn't played many FF games.

[QUOTE="SamuRai_JeDi"]I have only played a few games more than a few times in my lifetime and Heavy Rain wouldn't be one of them.

[QUOTE="SamuRai_JeDi"]haven't played it, but i refuse to spend $60.00 on a real-time on screen button tapping movie that I'd never play again.stack1109

How do you know you wouldn't play it again if you're not going to play it to begin with? :S Personally, I cant wait to get my hands on it tomorrow, regardless of whether I play it 50 more times or not!!! :D

So you knew what those games were before you actually played them?

I picked it up in the early afternoon and I must say, it is very enjoyable. Great graphics and an interesting plot. I'm about 8 hours in and while it's a bit more linear than I'd have liked, I still can't wait to fire up the PS3 again. :P

Yeah, I am buying 26 games this month. There are so many great games coming out from Yakuza 3 to SMT: Strange Journey. Good thing it starts to lighten up with just a few games a month starting in April.FlamesOfGrey
What? Thats practically one game a day. Be realistic.

[QUOTE="HeroKen-ii"]

Already spent money on Bad Company 2 and I can't wait till God Of War 3.

Was going to buy FF13 but then I found out it was linear.

Khadaj32

/facepalm

For the last time, people, every Final Fantasy, excluding FFX-2, has been linear. Christ.

Anyways, already got BFBC2, grabbing FFXIII tomorrow, and that's it for this month.

Wrong.

I read this thread yesterday & I just tried the dlc for the first time today, & I had no problems with it. I checked all the chapters, bonuses, everthing was all still there, & the game didn't re-install itself either. I realise that several people have had to re-install, but you're the only one I know of that's reported losing their bonuses so far.

Hmmmm, thanks for the info. Its unfortunate but it keeps happening too. So when you quit the DLC you can get back to the main menu with no hassle? I wish I knew what the problem was... Oh well, I may as well concentrate on FF XII on Tuesday since I've finished Heavy Rain twice at this stage!
