Right out of the game the market is flooded. There's too many to sift through and compare. Your average consumer will just give up in frustration and buy a console. It's much easier that way.

I love tabletop RPGs. I started with D&D back in high school nearly 15 years ago and I've been hooked ever since. As much as I love video games, tabletop RPGs do require that face to face interaction and the experience of a shared narrative is like no other. I wish you luck on your RPG writing adventure, Johnny. I know I'm doing the same, I'm working hard to write and publish an RPG book with the Savage Worlds ruleset (assuming I get publishing rights with Pinnacle Entertainment Group, but I'm confident in my ability and I have some connections). It's a daunting task that's for sure haha. :)

@mucking_foron Yes, gas lamps lit up London and had done so since earlier in the century. I think around this time electric lamps were replacing the gas lamps.

@Futboljunky That is true. And don't get me wrong, I'm all about gender equality. It's just based on these comments, there is a lot of misconception and hate just because of the word feminist is used. Because of that, many of the points she makes is ignored. Which is sad really.

Might I suggest you drop the feminist moniker? I don't mind woman fighting for their rights or for respective representation that they feel akin to, in fact, I support that and I will gladly fight with them on that issue and I'm a guy. It's just the term feminist is such a tainted word sadly. As you said, it's going to illicit a biased negative response well before you even get to your points across. So why continue to use it? It's very much a negative stereotype now and I imagine you would get a more positive response to your points from men when such a negative bias is no longer present.

And you make some good points, there are some pretty sexualized portrayals of female characters that at first glance seem to be there only for sex appeal, and some are. Having more woman in the industry is a good thing. And the best point made was that the industry can benefit from more, stronger female leads. IMO, a strong female lead that has a great personality, maturity, and a strong head on her shoulders is very positive representation of woman I'd imagine (and for me, far more attractive than bigger boobs).

Also, I felt almost insulted when you mentioned the proliferation of sexualized female stereotypes was to blame because of the fact that this industry is a male dominated one. Don't lump us up in such broad strokes as not all men are like that. Strike a balance when bringing awareness to this.

I would love to have one but the price would put a major hole in my wallet that I wish not have. Sooner or later I will enjoy the PS3, but the Wii is first.
