The universe is infinite (according to current thinking) and the same confluence of events that started evolution here must (statistically) have happened somewhere else. The likleyhood of meeting another race? I don't know, we make alot of noise maybe they'll hear us. If so will they want to destroy us? (I suspect we'll want to destroy them. Till that time I guess we'l l just get on with killing each other). Anyway, loved it. Keep em coming.

What if machine is back! Genetic manipulation is an interesting area which is surrounded by much misunderstanding and indeed ignorance. Like radiation before it GM has become the boogey man. I'm not saying it's all good, the potential for misuse is huge. As one of the experts mentioned it seems enivitable that human GM will happen, careful control and thought is needed to make sure we get benefits and not problems.
