Either I had forgotten or just did not realise but these are some of the earliest games I really got into. Yes there had been Sonic and Mario before, yes I'd played some SF but I had only had glimpses of those, by 1998 I a PS1, was 9 years old and better able to grasp the skills needed to play MGS or GT. Oh what a time to be a live and arguably the greatest year in gaming.
You don't need a full article for these. They are ways of defrauding the public who have spent full price for a game. Simple as that. They should be made illegal barring F2P games.
This is gonna be a day one purchase for me, the first since GTA V...but maybe not the last this year, what with GoW also releasing. If RDR2 strays away from intrusive micro transactions, that could be another day one...heck I havent even bought Crash or SOTC yet. Damn 2018 is Sony's year.
@Redsyrup: My opinions on Kojima are somewhere in between the extreme of he is all bad and he is perfect. There's no doubt he has had a huge impact on the MGS games, on Konami and on gaming as a whole BUT he never did any of it on his own. The voice cast for the English version have been excellent and the change to Sutherland in particular was bad to say the least.
We shouldnt forget the work of guys like Fukushima who helped him write, or the group of composers who worked on the famous score and all the countless programmers that made everything flow. Plus, regardless of the beef between Konami and Kojima, he should never have been involved in a half arsed, half finished game with a non consequential story and repetitive side ops that almost made me stop playing. That's all Kojima.
I don't care about the story in all honesty, I don't want side quests either. I just want more violence (which isnt even all that grotesque and is often cartoonish), more enemies to kill, more combos, weapons and more bosses. Keep GoW, GoW.
@craigtl: thats what im hoping lol the first struck a good balance, although the action sequences got a bit boring towards the end and the villain was crap
Man, this is walking a very tight line between being too comedic and breaking the fourth wall to such an extent that Cable may lose his significance as a genuine badass...or being just the right amount of Deadpool. Please be the latter.
