I'm more of a politico than I am a video gamer, but you are the reason I find myself engrossed in video game news on a weekly basis. I've always had a love of video games, but as I grow older I've found myself hungry for greater analysis of the genre as it eclipses television and Hollywood as the primary storytelling median. You, and Gamespot by association, have elevated the level of discourse and added objective, sometimes subjective, reasoning to the conversation - qualities that make for excellent reporting.
Video games tell stories no different than movies and books. As such, they are ripe for critique, not just enjoyment. In that respect, The Point brilliant, particularly the episode on Destiny being the hardcore gamer's slot machine; it's probably one of the best analytical pieces on video game production that I have ever consumed. As the gamer audience continues to grow in size, so too must this kind of journalism.
Thank you for your hard work, Danny, and thank you Gamespot for fostering such bright young minds.
Love this brilliant yet brutally honest response to the gaming community. Gamespot has a right to defend itself and I for one know where I will continue to get all of my gaming news. Professionals run this website, not children.
@Splenge I don't see why it wouldn't have the same potential, imagine upgraded weapons, upgraded titans with perks and customization, gameplay mechanics etc. It being set in a fictional universe also allows free roam when it comes to story development.
