Multiverse theories make my head hurt as well, but I'll give it a shot. Anyway, I haven't played BS2 in a long time, but doesn't it take place way later than Infinite? Infinite is in the year 1912, and Bioshock 2 is in the late 60's. But of course the whole time travel/dimension-hopping  thing could make all of that possible. And we don't ever see Elizabeth's real mother in Infinite. Hmm...

When I first started writing this post I kind of doubted if they could ever be the same, but now I'm not sure.

I agree. Pokemon is kind of its own genre, so you can't really change it (although I suppose technically it's an RPG). Besides, they have enough spinoff titles, like coliseum, conquest, mystery dungeon, etc. to keep the pokemon universe diverse. I don't exactly know what it is that people want to change about the main Pokemon series? I think they make just the right amount of innovation with each new generation.

All of that being said, I'm extremely excited for Pokemon X Y.

I find this kind of lamentation really annoying. You're actively asking the medium to remain dumbed down. I can't understand why a guy who's been through college wants a return to the Devil May Crys of yesterday, with the paper thin script and mindless hack and slashing. No, I'm quite happy video games have decided to attempt a cultural equivalence with books and films, and that developers actually have something to say. I'm an adult, I have an interest in society, and I like satire - and it just so happens that video games have proven to be extremely proficient in this field.

Of course like any creative work with a message, those who disagree with that message are going to feel alienated, and maybe you're just a harassed right winger. If so, that's fine. but you don't like the game because you disagree with it, not because it has substance.

And by the way, for any staff that may glance this who are disheartened by the original poster's decision not to buy becathey you've injected some relevance into the game, please don't be. It's because of this that I already have the game on preorder.

Yes, I agree all the way.

I don't really give a damn about the name, and I like both Dantes, so I'm hoping it'll land somewhere in the 8-10 range, a 7 at worst (my own personal rating; I don't much care what Gamespot rates it, so long as they're honest).

I think it's really petty for so many "fanboys" wanting this game to fail. Why wouldn't you want more good games?

Does anyone know if baiting two factions to kill each other raises chaos? I'm trying to not kill anyone, but on several occasions I've lead overseers to thugs, who then proceeded to fight and kill each other; I've also done this with thugs and weepers. So, basically,  what I'm asking is does this change the city for worse?

[QUOTE="rjcadet7"]

I want to read a book that has the same dark atmosphere as Dishonored. Any Recommedations?

geosurface

My librarian gf who likes steam punk books suggested these:

  • the disgraced protector on a quest to save the queen, try "The diamond throne" by David Eddings (genre: high fantasy) or "The looking glass wars" by Frank Beddor (parallel universe, Alice in Wonderland).
  • steampunk, try "The girl in the steel corset" by Kady Cross (for gritty streets and automatons), "Soulless" by Gail Carriger (lighter romance with supernaturals), "The clockwork angel" by Cassandra Clare (more supernaturals), or "Boneshaker" by Cherie Priest (for a little zombie action).
  • rats and plague, try "The amazing Maurice and his educated rodents" by Terry Pratchett (satire loosely based on Pied Piper)

Thanks for the suggestions. I've got plenty to read now.

@snap-dragon i was actually just thinking this game has the most ridiculously fast loading screens i've ever seen. it's literally 3 seconds, I quickload a lot and know :D but on this same computer MMO games tend to take longer than my crappier computer loads them for some reason, a lot longer actually. I mean every single piece of hardware is crappier across the board. running exact same OS/services too. i've actually asked why various place for months and i'm no closer to solving itKickable

Ah, well, that explains it. I bought the 360 version so I could share the game with my dad. The load times seem horribly long to me, but I still enjoy the game immensely.

I was wondering the same thing. As for me, I'd say the problem is the loading screens; they're so long. Unfortunately I haven't been able to play it much yet (midterms :[), but so far that's the only complaint I have.

I'm so glad you asked. I was just thinking this last night. I was already planning to read Count of Monte Cristo after I finish the book I'm currently reading, but more suggestions would be appreciated.
