I've got to say that I, somewhat, disagree with this score. Granted a score is objective from the get go and the reviewer has clearly spent more time on it than I have. However I have had extreme difficulty with the multiplayer up-scaling. Playing solo has been a cinch so far...but when my friends enter my game everything goes crazy: enemies become so much MORE of a bullet sponge, there are several additional enemies for each mission (this by itself wouldn't be so bad), and the enemies love to spawn just behind me right after I've relocated due to the enemies in front of me attempting to flank.
There was a point in the first mission area that I considered ejecting the disc and taking it back but then I logged on and played solo and am only now starting to enjoy the game. If I could have as much fun playing with my friends as I do on solo mode...the 9/10 would feel so much more deserved in my opinion.
Another small issue I had was audio bugs...but I imagine that will get patched soon.
Blizzard has not faied to deliver thus far with all things Diablo. Ok...so d3 had a shady launched but they totally fixed it with the 2.0 update. I like this company because they seem to take their time and do things right. Even today I enjoy playing diablo and overwatch. I also had my time of fun on WoW “back in the day” but I had to put that down due to addiction issues.
I don’t understand the logic behind these bundles? I am primarily a PS4 guy (no fanboy...I really don’t care) but I’m in the market for an Xbone mainly for PUBG, Halo, and Forza. Why would I pay $300 for a console and PUBG ($30 game on xbl) when I could pay $230 for that same console and forza H3 (a $50 game on xbl)? Is there something I’m missing? Aren’t these both for 500 GB consoles?
I honestly hate that Overwatch had to get wrapped into this (at least their loot boxes are cosmetic only) but I feel this needed to be brought to the light so long ago. I'm not against gambling but I sure don't mind to use it as a vehicle to fix this aspect of the gaming industry.
I should not have to pay full price for a game then pay additional money (for A CHANCE) to be on the same competitive playing field as everyone else. Hopefully infinity ward and treyarch also take note of this and cut out their loot boxes in the next 2 cod releases.
'Instead, players can expect "unique rewards to help you shine."'
F- this then. All that "would-be" work for a change in the way my character looks? Idk why but Bungie has changed this game for the worse in that they do not reward you for putting in the effort to complete their more difficult tasks. Great story...horrible endgame.
@cygnus455: Never enjoyed the Halo games...I forced myself to finish the 1st one b/c I spent money on it being told it was a good game....destiny, however, proved to be a much better experience
You gave your opinion and this is just my 2 cents...just know there is a fanbase out there that loves this game and it's perfectly ok if you dont
I've been playing the beta for 2 nights now and I am enjoying it. However I can't help the feeling that this game will get stale rather quickly unless there is a ton of additional content to offer at launch. People are going to complain that this is a step backwards for the series due to lack of customization. This feels a lot like MW1 that put on a WW2 skin.
This plus the fact that they are releasing this game under the shadow of Destiny 2 makes me concerned for the franchise. If I'm correct, this will be 0 for 2 as far as Sledgehammer CoD games are concerned. I hope I'm wrong and hope we will see a better CoD:WW2 at launch and better CoD's in the future.
@mathandr: I don't know what lonely corner of the world you are from but myself and several of my friends have taken off several days of work to play this game on release. I hear stories of people on fb doing the same thing. Have you seen their crowds at gamescon? I'm pretty sure this is a very anticipated game despite the fact that you don't like it.
