I don't think too many people understand what Gamespot is going for with their new scoring system. Think about it, a 7/10 is good, it's 3 points away from a perfect score. If a game receives an 8, then it's a genuinely great game, close to perfect. anything above a 6 is worthy of a buy in my opinion.
@mustafa1992 Why? Can you not respect the technology that is being brought to the table here? Are you not creeped out at the fat that some random person on the internet could get all of your information somehow? Why people can't simply view things for what they are made for is beyond me.
Also, do you people realize that a 9 is superb? A 9 to Gamespot is like a 9.5 or 10 to pretty much every other reviewer, so when a game gets a 9 here, it's fair to say it's really a 9.5 or 10. I thought the review was excellent, Carolyn dishes out the best reviews in my opinion.
I buy NHL every year and love each one, but you'd have to be a fool to realize that this series needs a change. I was pretty disappointed when I found out that this wasn't coming to next-gen consoles. I can't wait for NHL 15 to (hopefully) totally revolutionize hockey games again, the way NHL 07 did back when it switched into the current generation. New graphics engine, new creation zone, authentic stadiums, etc are all needed. But NHL 14 is still an improvement from 13, so it'll keep me satisfied for one more year.
