I personally think he is way too conservative on his numbers. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to a quarter or a third of gamers will notice this type of detail. I know I will. For detail rich environments, I really like to stop and "take in the scene", and I typically am pretty impressed how some of these artists and programmers work to make things look so real. I like even trying to figure out how they did it. I think he is way underestimating gamers attention to detail, IMO.
Scary, scary, scary! Big Brother is Here! I don't like it one bit. MS just shot themselves in the foot again, even after all the healing they have been trying to do.
MS facing reality. Maybe they can turn it into some useful moniker. Put some comedians to work on some clever ads that will make us laugh, like... "Nick don't buy Knack, its a paddywack, throw your X-a-bone!" Lame, I know, I'm no comedian.
I liked Heavy Rain. Innovative and creative. Had some rough edges to work out on gameplay though. Hopefully, Beyond does even better. From what I have seen so far, I believe it will. Guessing it will make between $150 to $200 mil.
I'm still looking forward and excited for the game, but am long past being disappointed when I see news like this. They've said enough stuff like this that I'm not shocked and have no anticipation for seeing it anytime soon. Lots of other great games coming out to be excited about.
Very well said Johnny! Totally agree with your comments on the immature, asinine comments. Overall, Gamespot does a great job on reporting and reviews IMO. Keep up the good work.
In my opinion they should instead focus on making better and the best games outside of the FPS genre. Go after something that Activision isn't doing, and reign supreme there.
So, is this supposed to be Sony's gaming VR headset or not? Confused? Are they debuting something else in 2014? If this is their VR headset to go against Oculus Rift, then I am not impressed. Was hoping for something better. This just looks like an upgrade. Reviews I read on HMZ-T2 said it was very uncomfortable to wear, heavy and hurt your head. This design doesn't look like they made any improvements in that area. Also, the price is a killer for this headset. I've heard Rift is supposed to go for around $300, and this is trying to compete at over $2,000? Doesn't make sense.
