@stealthy1: Same here. Bought a PS4 Pro around Xmas time and for all the exclusives I bought I still spend way more time on the Xbox.

@Xristophoros: I would understand your point but then I realized game pass is not just for exclusives and does have games on it worth playing.
Not everyone is like me (About 800 current gen games across Xbox and PS4) and some gamers will only buy a handful of games a year. Game pass seems more for people like this. Microsoft i'm sure did not spend 5 years paying for development of this game (I bet a lot of that was in development hell) to deliberately release a sub par product but im sure like most games it will have an audience that loves it.

@deviltaz35: Its a locked 60fps on both the One X and PS4 Pro. Both base consoles struggle according to digital foundry.

My time with it on the One X has been brilliant. I have yet to encounter a single crash or bug in 15 missions and a handful of multiplayer matches.

As an owner of both the One X and recently, the PS4 Pro I can safely say they're both not great in terms of performance due to the poor cpu but generally are a big improvement over both base consoles in this department. The One X has proven to have significant noticeable improvement with more effects, better textures and higher resolutions if developers put the effort in. Definitely the best console on the market in terms of what it can do but there is a reason I have a Pro too, Exclusives.

Ace Combat 7 from what I understand doesn't have PS4 Pro or One X Support. It just runs at an uncapped frame rate which is why the beefier consoles make light work of it.

I believe part of the problem was the episodic content. A lot of people don't want to wait months between chapters of a game and by the time the game is complete, it was already long forgotten.

This has not stopped me purchasing every Telltale game available on the Xbox store as I am usually more than happy to wait. The one time I jump in early it looks like i'm getting burned. I hope they complete the Walking Dead but I cant see it. I would even take the final 2 episodes shrunk down into a comic book style with selections just to see the ending at this point.

I did however manage to get a refund from Microsoft. If they finish the game, i'll buy it again.

@berrlett: For sure there are not a lot of modern JRPG's on the Xbox and I would love to see them come over. I still play Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon on occasion as what is available doesn't cut it for me. The games you listed don't interest me of course but i'm under no illusions that there is an interest for these types of games on the Xbox. The only JRPG i'm really waiting for is FF7 but even then the hype drained away when they decided to follow the FF15 gameplay model. The game suffered heavily in terms of story due to its open world action style.

As for the multiplatform racers you mentioned I feel the Crew 2 is suffering as it has no multiplayer until December so I lost interest fast, NFS titles have had issues for years but I do keep buying them as I have done since the original on the 3DO, Dirt Rally is just awesome but has been out for a number of years.

FYI with price being an issue FH4 will be on game pass and the demo is available to try. Seems more of the same old Horizon which is a good and a bad thing. Looks fantastic on a 4k screen mind you.

I have been strictly speaking on my opinion and understand others will think completely different.

@Atzenkiller: Free to play games generally have huge user bases. Look at Warframe and Fortnite for example. I doubt they would have the same following as full price titles.

Lighter user bases are more likely games that came out early in the generation. With cross play it could bring those games back to life. I have already experienced the revival of dead games with backwards compatibility by bringing Xbox 360 into current generation. I doubt cross play would have such dramatic results as this but increasing the pool of potential players can only enhance multiplayer gaming current and old.

@berrlett: It's not really brainwashed beyond repair, they're just not something that interest me in the slightest even though they may be exceptional in the genre. JRPG's for example were something I spent countless hours playing in the PS1, PS2 era, Final Fantasy especially, but they have evolved into something far different than what I once loved.
I'm not defending a "dry console" I honestly think that the Xbox has exactly what I need.

As part of a Forza e-sports team you can see where I spend most of my time and what genre I play most. If you could actually see my games library I have a little bit of everything with 448 games installed currently.

I did actually own a PS4 at one stage and through my experiences I sold it as I enjoyed the Xbox more, something I regret now as GT Sport has evolved from launch and was key in my decision to sell at the time but both my kids want a PS4 this Christmas so maybe I could explore more then.

@berrlett: "LOL dude the salt, Tales is garbage ? Ni No Kuni is garbage ? Dragon quest is garbage ? and then you run after a rumor hoping one day you'll get a decent game like Yakuza LOL, why not play it now ? its there..LOL. Well, I guess.... keep shooting and........... driving I hear there is YET another Forza Horizon coming your way, Gears and Halo to follow next gen."

I honestly think that list is garbage for the games I prefer. You just listed a load of JRPG's which are quite Niche in the west and if that's your thing more power to you. If you said Last of Us, God of War or Horizon Zero Dawn then I would understand your point more as Microsoft seems weak in these very popular genres. A handful of what were thought to be Sony "Exclusives" have appeared on the Xbox. Crash, Nier and Senua I purchased, all with Enhanced graphics and in the case of Nier, all the DLC. Was worth the wait but I wouldn't have been particularly bothered without them.

To each there own I guess. I have 5TB of storage on my One X and its close to capacity with installed games. More exclusive games would be fantastic but I have no hope of getting through what I have and what i'm enjoying. It's a great problem to have and certainly something all consoles can offer.

@soeddy: Let me get this right. You hope they carry on being anti consumer over an old argument? Very sad and backwards thinking.
