[QUOTE="face_ripper"]Trust me in this, the consoles are holding back gaming. The day DX13 and 14 comes out and we are still playing on the PS3 or X360, then the devs will realize this. My PC is not that great, I would even consider it being nothing compared to what is around nowadays, and yet i could still get an FPS of 80+ even with a large number of particles in the screen, and if everything is clear in the game, it tops to 150 or higher. PS3 and X360 on the other hand, released in what? 2005? 2006? The FPS hits lower then 40 sometimes. PC>>>>>>Console

same here, the reason i dont upgrade is because there is no need these days, games are just so crappy that a 4-6 year old PC still perfectly fine if you guy think about it this is the ONLY advantage we PC gamers get from this mess, that we actually save money because there is no need to upgrade our hardware year after year now i guess we can all save up and upgrade when the xbox 720 and ps4 comes out in 2015, but we only have to spend a little then (some $100's) they have to invest $1000 for a new console

ALL consoles DO support keyboard and mouse !!!!! i know because i used them, it works with ALL games too !!! and no i would not be thempted because the primitive performance of those systems not to mention that RIP OFF $7 (or what ever it cost) / month to be able to use YOUR network jack with YOUR OWN internet i admit its not quite as smooth using keyboard and mouse on consoles, but its good enough / manageable i got years ago a "joy box9" it was $5 + shipping on ebay (new) for adapter, they went a bit up in price i think models right now available are around $20.. just google or ebay search your console and keyboard there are TONS and they WORK those adapters are SPECIFICALLY designed for gaming, they translate each function of the controller to a function of a key or a mouse movement, keys are free definable

DICE wont consolize BF3. They know better, they know the PC gamers made DICE so popular.

VensInferno
its already been showing that it does not matter who "knows better" the rules are made by the one who is making out the pay checks but in this case i seem to agree, its NOT because dice knows better, because BF3 is unlikely to be overly popular on consoles, its not a console game, i dont even get it how people try to play that on a console i guess they can , its gona be like a bunch of 3 years olds playing hokey ;) = funny at best crysis on the other hand (single player) is like made for console.. it had to be a hit... dont really need much skills or fast controls to play the single player mode

[QUOTE="AncientDozer"]

The point ISN'T that DICE "consolized" (a stupid made up term to be the big bad boogie man for PC gamers), it's that DICE isn't a PC only developer anymore.Espada12

The term consolized isn't really stupid, it's just a term used when an originally PC focused game has it's design changed to either be able to run on consoles or for the console audience. Also I'm not sure what DICE being a multiplatform developer has to do with anything, I mean valve is as well.

i think the biggest problem is that the 360 is a stone old console now , with a $20 video card (current value), its primitive compared to even a cheap few year old PC, so they cut corners and make the grafix compatible with both... and with old consoles like that that does not fly anymore.. when the 360 was still brand new i would say go for it.. but now for years anylonger

i play battlefield heroes every chance i get, after BF2 this will become my 2nd favorite all time game i think i did not really liked 2142 it was way to "vanilla", it reminded me to much of other non battlefield games, i got bored of 2142 after just a few 100 hours, where BF2 i played 1000's of hours btw i have a few BH beta keys left if any one interested in trading or something ; )

because xbox suks because of xbox-live because playstation not every game is out because wii has that retard controller because all consoles games are way over priced and had to pirate because PC has best grafic, and its more gamer friendly, especially multiplayer because its a b1tch to hook and configure keyboar and mouse to a console PC rules occasionally i get a console and then sell it a few months later i'm so disappointed every time, no idea why people even bother with those, consoles seem to me has nothing more to offer then a way to rip the customers off.... consoles are the lazy mans gaming device, not to mention you have to be a money bag if you a serious gamer to primary use a console... "pay more - get less" should be the advertising slogan for consoles : )

i build systems for years and i wount put anything else but an asrockmother board in my own system

they are cheap as hell and outperform in every way and form the most expensive and popular boards, no matter if it performance, features, overclocking, stability, compatibility they unbeatable IMO

plus the support is like 1 of a kind exelent

http://www.asrock.com but i do buy the boards from dealers i find usualy on ebay

the board i use right now cost me $50 and is the same exact board that is sold in the US with a diferent brandname for far above $200

It's easy to build your own comp., don't be so intimidated. If you can read you can build one. Most of the M-Boards these days are softswitch and they auto-configure everything for you. Basically it's like LEGO'S just put the parts where they fit, the instructions that come with each part tell you exactly how to do it. Best suggestion if you're on a budget is to buy the best motherboard you can, so it will last a few years, and then the best

I'm no computer genious, not even close. I built my own and for $1400 I gotwhat I think is a pretty goodPC, take out the waste of a sound card I bought (junky), and get a low end HDD and you've got a great machine for around $1200.

EVGA-nForce 680i SLi - $200 (overclockable front side bus for future processors)
Core 2 Due 6600 - $220
PQI DDR2 800 Ram - $90 Not the best but 2 to 4 gig is great
XFX 8800 GTX - $550
Sound card - $75 who cares, as long as it's an Audigy2 or above (personally X-Fi Extreme gamer $145)
Hard drive - Unless you "NEED" awesome load times get cheap one $75 (personally Raptor 74Gb $145)
2005wrxsti

LOL dude you have way to much money to waste, i make a system with just about the same performance for not even HALF of that money... you scaring the poor tread starter away with they INSANE prices : )

for your price i can add to the system a high resolution video projector and play games on a full sized wall surface

on subject:
BUT The LEGO comment it very true this days, if it fits in the slot it WILL work, there is no need of big research just buy the cheapsuff (i build systems for like 10 years)

http://www.soft32.com/Download/Free/CounterStrike_15_Final/4-2542-1.html

This download (Counter-Strike 1.5 Final) is freeware. "Freeware is copyrighted computer software which is made available for use free of charge, for an unlimited time, as opposed to shareware where the user is required to pay (e.g. after some trial period or for additional functionality)."

well you do need halflife1 as it is a mod of that, but that game (halflife1) you can pick up in most used game stores or your local fleemarket for like $1or just download that as well its so old noone cares
