Nintendo will wait to launch proper sequels to their biggest franchises first (Galaxy 3, Prime 4, and a "REAL" HD Zelda) probably if they keep with the current sales by Christmas 2014 then they might very well do what you suggested. It won't be late either as this beginning generation will be the actual one untill 2018 (at least).

Still I can see your frustration with them not releasing a "proper console" like in the past, Wii U is a little more proper than Wii, but no SNES that's for sure...

@krystyla @shinreiningyo to be deep red you need your bank account to go red, and the Wii U isn't even near doing that for Nintendo.

When you hear Nintendo complaining on fiscal year projections and hear the "down" word, is compared to "projected earnings", and not overall account balance.

As a matter of fact their capital is raising and not decreasing (check financial data) even in spite of Wii U, thanks to the world wide incredible success of the 3DS (a success that is about to explode even further soon).

5 Billion of Non-Borrowed dollars are a ton of money and even if you go red after many years you can still refinance yourself out for a very long time (Sony has being doing business on refinanced debt, forever now)

Again, don't count on Nintendo going anywhere, if Wii U doesn't succeed, they'll just launch another system next and that's about it.

@krystyla which still doesn't put Nintendo anywhere near extinction, ie: it's a very healthy company financially speaking.

Besides, I might have the money to buy a precious thing you have, but that doesn't mean you will sell it to me ;)

Bottom line, Nintendo isn't going anywhere far from where it has always been (ie: the videogame market both HW and SW) any time soon...

and this is before Monster Hunter 4 and the new Pokemons come out (which will be in a few weeks) check their sales then (it will be probably 2:1 with the nearest competitor if not more).

The fact is, the 3DS is a tremendous cash cow for Nintendo. The company, based on their capital surplus, is to be considered filthy rich (500+ billions) and about to get richer (with the millions about to come in due to the aforementioned games).

Counting them out as some has done, would be superficial at best, a look behind the (financial) scenes will give you a clearer picture...

@kiramasaki sony is deep down in red (their company account balance is negative for several billions) and MS hides in his figures the fact that they had to exchange (in the end) 100% of the old X-box model (due to the red ring of death being confirmed as a 100% casualty rate) which costed them billions which which must be subtracted by their purported earnings (they simply put that on separate account and that's it, all clean...).

Nintendo on the other hand has accumulated a surplus of 500 billion (publicly available data confirmed by Michael Pacter of Bush Morgan Securities) and is by far the richest company among the three (remember, how rich you are is not measured by how much you earn or momentarily have, but how much you can keep after all is said and done).

That is a "misery" the other companies would only dream to have when they go discuss re-financing their debt (specially Sony in this regard) with their respective banks...

Once a friend of mine bought a used game in a bargain bin for $2, the game was bad and he knew it, but just couldn't resist the experience of buying a game for that cheap.

A few minutes later, with a similar amount of money I bought myself a juicy Hot Dog (it was NICE).

You see, for how cheap anything might be, there are other uses for those same (cheap) amount of money...

For how I respect points of view, 1 full point less just because the reviewer had problems with something many are having no problem with, can only give the impression that such reviewer is half retarded, instead of conveying that this is an inferior game compared to other versions.

Hope such lows won't be hit again in the future...

@akiratasoeur or at least provide the graphical part leaving the game design to those who worked on it on the Super NES :)

@TheAmazingYeah True. Most kids tamper with mobile devices because that's all they have available around the house. But you know what? They start liking videogames this way,and as soon as they touch a "real "game machine (even a 3DS is sufficient, maybe from a friend) they immediately spot the immense quality difference and will finally make the jump to complex/quality games.

Humans are not that stupid as not to notice differences when they are (finally) allowed to experience different devices.

For a "phone" game it looks nice, but it it doesn't even look as good as a top quality LAST gen game (Gears of War, God of War, The Last of Us, you name it...) go figure next gen.

And with mobile "controls" and battery life?(...) Forget about Next Gen Consoles? (???)

This guy is delusional at best...
