They succeed because of great expectations and strong emotional investment in the genius 4 seasons that were authentic, and it's been hard to miss considering they are giving fans what they want to see instead of what Martin intended. And how does our society respond to such artistic larceny? Back to back Emmy wins for best series.

And please also note that this all started at the same time as the after-show where these demon producers star, brought on by illustrations of them in costume, a total ego orgy of everything most vain in the purest pursuit of douchebaggery.
