I don't understand what people have against "remastered" games. Simply ignore their existence if they're not for you, people who either missed out on the original releases or are big fans of the game will buy them. Either way it has not effect on you.
Plus it's not like it is coming at the cost of new games. From september all the way into about February or March of next year there are a ton of new, highly anticipated games being released. No need to fret, the gaming universe is looking bright. The drought we had for the majority of the year is nearly over.
When I first heard to voice I thought it was my character speaking. It wasn't until I was reading impressions online that I realized it was the AI speaking.
The voice doesn't necessarily have to sound robotic. We are talking about a game that takes place in a universe where humans colonize planets and are involved in deep space exploration, as well as having the option of a race that is basically a robot. It isn't far fetched to believe that technology in this universe would be capable of having AI with human-like voices.
However with that said it could help to alter the voice a bit. Maybe even add an autotune like sound to it. It is a bit odd hearing to voice of a human coming from a robotic sphere.
The one thing about gamespot, for better or worse, is that they are not afraid to give an honest opinion and rate a game lower than the norm. For example their Last of Us review was lower than almost all popular game reviewing sources.
Im a fan or rap and hiphop and I have to agree. The dub-step/electronica type music in the last game was great and I dont even like that genre. I remember Ed Boon doing an interview around the release of last game and he said how the dub-step, techno like music has always been a good fit for the mortal kombat franchise (the movie soundtracks were nearly exclusively this type of music). So hopefully Ed Boon and the MK team will stick with what has worked.
Completely agree. Too much focus on quality of graphics instead of the little details that make the game come to life. Id like to see a bigger focus on physics, animations, destructability, environment interaction, etc. Games look damn good now but its the little things that break life-like graphics. Ive seen screenshots for games that look damn near photo realistic but when the games in motion its not as crisp, the animations dont look human enough, and the interactions with the world are no better than theywere for ps2. New technology should be more than making a game look as real as possible but have gameplay thats been done since 2 generations ago. It should be about taking the whole experience to the next level. Something as simple as random objects in the game having physics to them helps
Before arkham asylum there werent many examples, if any, of highly acclaim superhero/license games or even a no name studio coming out of nowhere to make a great game. I still have faith in wb to make a good game considering its built on rocksteadys foundation.
I also, unlike others, like that wb isnt messing with the formula to much. I understand not wanting a game that feels rehashed but I also dont want wb to change things up just to have something different. If they had some interesting new ideas thats one thing but if they were to make changes just to make changes then thats never a good thing. As long as the game has the same solid gameplay and a solid, interestong story then I will be satisfied. I think one way wb could surprise us is by having to really good boss fights. With there being 7 (?) Different assassins the potential is definitely there
Just imagine working a job and not getting paid for it because thats what people who pirate, games, movies, cds do to those who are working their ass off to make a great product. Sure they are making theyre money but who knows how much more they could make if their product wasnt stolen. Money that could be used to make an even better game. And people wonder why cerrain products are so expensive..they might be cheaper if they werent getting robbed for a percent of the profit.
I used to download music and try to get my hands on bootlegs but I realized that if I am a true fan of a game, movie, muscian/band/artist then they deserve to have my money.
Because unless you have kids or like to dance infront of your tv it was a waste of money. $100 or more to talk to my tv? No thanks. And if I want to do physical activity I go to the gym, go for a run, play an actual sport. When I play videogames I want to sit on my couch, relax, and play a game. If you enjoyed the kinect then I cant say you are wrong but I never saw anything for it that sparked my interest (or nothing that made me want to spend $100)
