@DarkSithMstr @xolivierx well remember publishers are the ones that are on the hook for restricting used games. They are probably going to continue the model of having you pay for a pass to access multiplayer content. In all honesty if there was a Steam like system (that I hope PS+ and Xbox Live evolve into) Used games won't have as much bite for devs.
Consumers clearly have spoken, they want choice they don't want restrictions Sony chose the capitalist free market approach not the oligopolistic approach. That's going to be reflected in sales when the only people who buy the Xbox are going to be brodudes developers will do multiplatform to make a profit. Studios are spending millions of dollars to make these games do you really think that they are going to do an exclusive unless MS heavily subsidizes them.
@DarkSithMstr Publishers are going to make decisions based on the install base, if few people have the hardware who's gonna bother developing for it if no one is going to play it.
