My 2nd 360 is about to go, and it made me think about my reliability issues with MS. None of these systems were abused, or moved around after first set up, I always kept them in well ventilated areas and never had any heat related problems

1. Bought my 1st xbox online back in 2002. It was DOA on arrival, wouldn't read any discs. May have been shippers fault.

2. 2nd xbox worked fine for a month, then gave me disc read errors on loading a disc on start up. would open and close tray several times and the games would start, they generally ran with no issues after starting. Halo for some reason was the only game that would not cause this problem. After 1 year I traded it in for a PS2.

3. I purchase my first 360 at best buy with Product replacement plan. After3 months it makes loud clicking sounds while trying to read discs and some games have load/lock up porblems. I simply exchange for a new one after 5 months.

4. 2nd 360 has a problem with the controller that came with it. Left trigger gets stuck on even though the button is out and not pressed in. I replace controller and all seems well.

5. I buy MS racing wheel. I notice there is asmall centering issue, but it didn't seem to affect my driving, so I did not worry about it. Ihave great a time with PGR3 and Forza2 with it. after almost 4 months the wheel starts sticking real bad. Something is wrong with the gears inside. I can't get a replacement because the 90 days are up. The wheel onlyhad about 20 total hours of use between PGR3 and Forza2. I'm SOL on this one.

6. 2nd 360 is now making disc loading noises, different from the first, but I have to crank the speackers up to unpleasant levels to drown out the noises. I noticed that there seems to be some loading pauses in games I didn't notice before. Sitting 360 vertically seems to help a little, but it is just a matter of time.

The only Item I have purchased from MS that hasn't had a problem was the WIFI adapter. Iam seriously considering just going with thePS3 this time. I could just exchange the 360 for a new one at best buy, but I'm getting upset with all the problems I have had with MS, and not just consoles. If you were in my situation, would you switch?

All I can say is I am on my 2nd 360. I bought the PS3 and it has been very realiable. No issus since launch day.

Sony will win in the end. I think at the moment they are not the clear winner. But it is clear quotes from game publishers and analysts predict PS3 will win in the end. Will take some time but it will happen. PS2 started off the sam way and look at it now. Give it time you shall see.

I am not sure why people are complaining about the PS3 price. I for one have a 360 and a PS3 and I can tell you in terms of features and quality PS3 beats the 360 hands down. Now that Blu Ray is taking off it makes it even easier to justify the 600$ tag. The Blu Ray movies look fantastic. If you really do a side by side comparison of the PS3 and 360 features you will clearly see the PS3 is worth the extra $$$ in my opinion.

Even though I have a Wii, 360, and PS3 I find myself using the PS3 more than the Wii and 360.

HD DVD is dead! It is a fact after the Blockbuster annoucement. So if you buy a 360 + a Blu Ray player you are going to pay a way more than 600$. If your just buying it for games than I can see why 600$ might be too much but if you look at the total package it 's a great deal hands down.

I love this sooo much. Sounds way better than any headset out
on the market.

I'm considering getting a PS3, and the biggest selling point to me is the mouse and keyboard support. I'm hoping that I can use the mouse/keyboard combo in FPS games. I used to play a lot of FPS games on the PC, now I can't afford the PC upgrades to keep up with the games. I tried some FPS games on PS2 but I never get used to using the joystick.

I haven't heard a lot of discussions on mouse/keyboard use on PS3. Does the current FPS games in PS3 support mouse & keyboard? Will future games support them? Anybody knows?

Agree PS3 games need to support mouse and keyboard
