Not worth it for a few seconds load time improvement. Way too overpriced and expensive. Patience is virtue. This SSD can wait.

I've read every post here. I think the future is bleak. We should all move to console gaming. I don't use vaseline. I use vegemite. Because I AM AUSTRALIAN.

Awesome posts by everyone here. I'm about to do a dumb one. You know why they call it "Steam" right? Steaming pile of kaka.

Wikipedia mentions Spore to be the most pirated game in 2008 because of securerom. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_rights_management DRM needs to improve pretty dramatically before people will agree with it. Coz right now, it is not doing very well at its job.

This really takes it to the ultimate level of total CRAP. Piracy seems to be an addictive hobby judging by the way its happening out there. I don't think there will ever be a solution to it, especially this DRM bloat. Maybe dropping the price on games to half of what they cost now, might raise the sales figures to a happy number, but hacker gangs are allways gonna crack everything no matter what. Throwing DRM tech into the mix just gives them something else to dominate.. whilst most of us gamers just sit there and cop it all with this enormous hassle. I've given up purchasing Steam activated games. If I miss out on Half Life Ep3, and yonder then so be it. What would be the point if the game will be difficult to install and I have to log on to this stupid Steam big brother crap so "he" can tell me if I'm allowed to play it today coz the servers are being updated or some other annoyance. Just check out the forums and you'll see how much of a disaster the whole DRM thing is turning out to be. It's almost a %50 %50 all for and against solution. Not a good figure if you want to SELL GAMES. All of the Half Life's and Warhammer 40K P2 as well as Empire Total War have been cracked with ease and are available to download. What a waste of time this technology has turned out to be.

I have given up buying games that require Steam to work. I've had to return Dawn of War 2 because I couldn't even install it. There are times where I can't even play Empire Total War OFFLINE because it receives a quick ping from Steam to be updated or "checked". All this occurs if my Adsl internet is bummed down to a slower speed for whatever reasons. Upon looking at Steam, you can adjust settings to allow the software to work on something as lame as a 56k modem. In doing that, Steam is down almost 2 or 3 days a week in a row at times anyway so why bother playing these games if we have to put up with this all the time? DRM's sort of seem like a good idea, but they are currently failing a lot of PC gamers out there.. and no - I will NOT upgrade my internet speed just so I can use this client.

I agree that the games are way too expensive (beyond a joke when you look at them actually) and the fact that a handfull of them are getting banned by that dick brain Atkinson makes it quite obvious that piracy is here to stay and will be until these things are "fixed". ie: 1. Fire AG Michael Atkinson and give him a job at the church as a pissboy and.. 2. NO game should be over \\$40 to \\$50 upon release.

This should be an upgrade for Vista and it should be for free. Microsoft can go to hell for this illusionary attempt at sucking us into paying for this frigen "patch".
