If this was DMC5, even if it had been a mediocre disappointment like RE6, it would have probably still sold more than this game.

What kind of sales can you expect when you make a game that the most dedicated fans end up hating.

I don't think DmC would have necessarily sold better if it wasn't called DmC. I do think it would have sold better had DMC5 been confirmed. If this was a spinoff and not a reboot, it would not have invited nearly as much hate and have more fans on its side.

You'd think sony would have learned from the sixaxis that gimmicks aren't going to cut it.

Crossing my fingers for a simple dualshock 4 with better trigger design.

" Destigmatize" lol ok.

I'm curious why movies and tv don't get brought into the discussion. Live action violence is much more relatable to real life.

On the other hand, the stylized violence in video games is more akin to violence in comic books. Did comic books in the 90s inspire a string of mass shootings?

What gets me more is how this all came from the Connecticut shooting. Sure I get politicians are using the whole child killer aspect of it for more publicity but for me the batman shooting is more telling.

James Holmescould certainly make a case for how violence in movies could get to psychos. Even then, video games would be much more of a stretch. Still, even with James Holmes, the issue for me was that he was able to obtain an AR15 with a drum mag along with the rest of his arsenal all legally. Yeah, we certainly don't have a gun control issue.

It's kind of funny how the PC version graphics looks about as technically good as console DMC4.

To me it's pretty simple. This is a good action game. It's just not devil may cry. The combat is simpler, the difficulty is none-existent, the story is not better.

None of that would have been negatives if this game wasn't replacing devil may cry. Casual gamers and people new to the series like the game because at it's heart, it's not a bad game.

However by simply calling this game a reboot, it alienates devil may cry fans which is a stupid thing to do with any established popular franchise.

The game's story falls apart near the end? Yup sounds like a Ninja Theory game.

@magicalclick the game was released in japan last summer. For some stupid reason, sega made the retarded decision to push the international release to now instead of during the summer drought even though the content and voice overs were all complete.
