You don't get a new suit for a bit, although I think they are for cosmetic purposes for the most part now. As for weapons, you don't actually get any weapons except for the SMG and Plasma Cutter you get at the beginning. To get new weapons you have to make them with the resources. You should have found one or two blueprints by now which are then used to build a particular weapon with resources, or you can build it with parts you have found, like the different cores you find.

i reached chapter 10 now and got a SMG and pistol but i dont got any prob with weapon ( i like simple weapons it make the game more fun ) but its really boring playing with the same suit after chapter 10 their will b new suits
i didnt finish DS2 b/c i found it boring ( the gameplay is all about shooting ) and DS3 is the same so if u feel boring for doin nothin buy it .. otherwise dont wast ur time
I could not complete 1st and 2nd dead spaces on pc because of crashing and invisible walls ect, ect, I was so disappointed about this that I swore on my mothers grave I would never buy another dead space game again. So, what about bugs? is Dead Space 3 for pc problem free?

1- for u it will b kinda hard with no health pack but the best thing to to after activating the train to aim at his arm and then use his arm to attack him and keep running by pressing shift and ctrl until the gate become blue and is able 2 b activated
2- u can use another strategy ... just aim on ur enemies leg or arm then punch them and kicking them after but keep in mind u will have to keep running .. then after 1-2 min i think the train will arive and dont forget to keep an eye on the train gate it will be colored by blue
