To repercometh, you understand that the main reason in studies as to why people console game compared to PC is because it's more casual and they can't afford to keep up with hardware? I'm going to go with no you didn't know that.

Think about it, pay $1000 to upgrade a PC to play a game, or buy a $300 console?

It's not piracy having such a massive effect, it is simply that console gaming is cheaper, so people are more inclined to buy the games.

DUh, and DUh, get real, all u keep doping is insulting my intelligence, obviously cost os a part of the equation. But piracy has an effect, that is common sense, well, to 99% of the population. when devs are saying that Piracy is effecting their support of the PC, that is explicit proof it is having a bad effect.

i am willing to bet my left nut, that fable 2 will be as dissappointing as the first one, and that the witcher is ten times better. Just wait for Pc version, play mass effect, The Witcher, eventually dragon age while waiting. Maybe even mysteries of Westgate for NWN2 as well. Pc lineup is great again this year, 360 not so much.

How can someone give proof to a hypothetical situation? get real, it is common sense, if people had No choice but to buy games nstead of pirating some would buy it, that is as common sense as the sun will come up tomorrow. U guys keep asking for proof, in a hypothetical situation as it is all u have to go on. It is obvious really, any with a brain will tell u that.

CryEngine can do more stuff, but I'd say UT engine is better for those people who don't want to spend 8000$ on a computer but still want to play with max settings.

But they're both great.

-Jankka-

Sigh, Bs, and plain misinfo, a $800-900 pc can run crysis on high.

that's nice, one game versus the 18 billion console sales compared to 2 billion for PC, k thanks. How much of that revenue was online subscriptions and the sims? A LARGE portion.

Hush little baby, don't say a word

WOW, insightful, intelligent, and a great point i may add. The fact is, showing one game out of the entire calendar that outsold console really doesn't show anything, that is called grasping at straws. I can list 20 console games that outsold orange box, many on one month.

Why do you keep on posting in this thread then.. Your trolling plain and simple.. You have yet to give a single thing productive about piracy what so ever...

How am i trolling by posting my view, u are the only one insulting and attacking, go figure. what the hell was productive about hush little baby or this direct attack on me? look in the mirror hypocrite.

It can't be stopped but it can be hampered by making great games. You notice that most excellent games still sell well enough to make it worth while to make them. Look how well Sins of a Solar Empire is doing....

sSubZerOo

That is not the point, they are not selling well enough for them to go to console, which Solar empire is. if piracy was not there, it would sell more, and we would lose less exclusives and developers. many of the best games ever had a lot of pirated copies that drove the devs to console. The sales are miniscule compared to console.

Thats false, games such as the orange box sold more then the PS3 and Xbox360 sales combined.

Also your logic is flawed.. You provided no evidence or reasoning why it would sell significantly more..

Give me a break, proof? i don't buy that one bit. Post a link or stop spreading crap. where did u get this info, your magic 8 ball? lol.

Even if true, that's one game compared to a slew of games on console that sell ten times more. Come on, please don't argue Pc games sell better then consoel, that's just lunacy, and totally false. Look at the sqles figurs, Pc gaming made 900 million the entire year, console 18 billion.

That is just the point...I AM ASKING YOU FOR PROOF that if piracy is stopped that we would see a significant short term increasement.. Notice I never said that with full certainthy that it will increase sales.. I am ASKING YOU FOR proof that this will indeed happen if piracy was magically stopped. And PC games can sell better then console games I just gave you evidence o fthat...

Orange box sold on the pc way more then the Xbox360 and PS3 combined.. Not just that but Crysis a game that very few people have the pcs to run well is beating Unreal Tournament 3 console version in sales.. Crysis sold 1 million in two months, while Unreal is at around 850k at this time with 2 months almost over.

PC games often times sell way better in the LONG term then any console games that I know of.. And I also find it funny that your comparing One platform the Pc, to 2 handhelds, 3 home systems, and a somewhat popular last gen hom esyustem (ps2)..

850000 for ut3 are Pc sales genius.
