[QUOTE="repercometh"][QUOTE="sSubZerOo"][QUOTE="repercometh"][QUOTE="sSubZerOo"][QUOTE="repercometh"][QUOTE="sSubZerOo"][QUOTE="repercometh"][QUOTE="F1_2004"]Has anyone brought up the fact that you can easily pirate XBOX and PS2 games also, yet those consoles aren't getting "killed" like the PC industry supposedly is. The reason devs don't produce as many games for the PC is that nobody owns the PC, whereas Microsoft and Sony will "entice" developers into making games for their respective console. See Bioware.sSubZerOo
Nobody owns PC? LOL, there are way more PC's owned then all consoles combined, get real. Also, console piracy is Much harder and less prevalent, u have to mod the hardware, PC all u need is an internet connection. Apples and oranges.
Pc's arn't consoles, most pc's are not capable of playing the newest games out there.... Crysis for instance can't be played by the majority of pcs out there.. Thats why time and time again they say you shouldn't look at short term sales for the newest games.. Wait long term like half a year to see how sales are.. That being said Nintendo just released a huge "claim" that they supposed "lost" a huge amount of money due to piracy as well... And the PSP is a pirates haven...
Funny how it sold over 1 million in less then 2 months for a game no one can play (Sarcasm). Nvidia sold over 2 million 8800 cards in 1 year, add to that, how many AMD high end cards,a d 7900 and X1900 which are still capable of playing games on very good settings. Someone needs to research PC hardware before posting.
.... lol... 2 million 8800s does not account for the majority of pc gamers out there.. It odvious that only the top % can run the game.. Thats what makes Crysis sales so very impressive.. That it sold that brilliantly in under two months.. As I said again the vast majority of pcs do not have the hardware to run todays games.. 2 million video cards is a small amount compared to the huge amount of pcs out there that people play games on..
2 million is just the 8800, what about 8600" 7900" AMD cards? Ignorant much?
Seriously yet again you are sarcastic and hostile.. AMD cards? You mean ATI Radeon cards? Check out the Steam report with 15 million users its a nice corss reference showing that these top cards very few have.. As time goes on the vast majority of peopel will be able to run these games.. As I say again its a small % compared to the entire population of pc gamers..
My point is, the pc market is still big, as witnessed by excellent sales of even the most demanding games out there. Did I mention Orange box sold more on PC then all consoles combined? The market is big.
Dude you got me all wrong I am not dissing the pc industry.. I am just pointing out that pc games sell best over a long time and are not like short term consoles.. Thats why it was very impressive to see such sales in Crysis.. But that being said put it in this perspective.. And the Orange Box can be run well on a 6800 card or a X800 one.. Crysis is a BIT more demanding then that.. Seriouslly are you just argueing for arguments sake?
Well, Crysis is an amazing game that has gaemplay to match the graphics, it well sell well on PC if it is done well.
