@aiat_gamer: just so I don't run the risk of misinterpreting I assume you are making a reference to gamespot carrying water for Nintendo?

I think it might be smart to take a wait and see approach to this I think it really depends on how robust the solo missions are. I kind of like the idea of individual missions for each character type providing back story and all that but ultimately it really would only benefit the multiplayer's experience as it seems like a disjointed and slaphazard offering for someone looking for a rich campaign game experience. On a practical level if you have an overwhelming majority of players who blow through the campaign but really are only in it for the multiplayer then they certainly should cater to that audience. I'm seeing that even the players complaining are disdaining the campaigns at the same time so why waste time, energy and resources on an aspect of the game that's short and ultimately unfulfilling for the core audience that supports the series?

For me I really am flabbergasted that there are so many gamers that get off so much for online multiplayer, it is so toxic and unfun, there simply cannot be that many super awesome twitch shooter super players out there the majority are marginal at best and just fodder for the no-life uber players or outright cheaters. Such a lousy way to spend precious game time.

@swiftnimblefoot: Games as a service. In video gaming, games as a service (abbreviated GaaS) represents providing video games or game content on a continuing revenue model, similar to software as a service. Games as a service are ways to monetize video games either after their initial sale, or to support a free-to-play model.

@todddow: I can only assume that if that truly is the case then you are either watching Netflix 24/7 and burning through literally everything they offer or that you are only interested in a narrow field of content. Seriously I consider that I watch a decent amount of Netflix and am drowning in shows in my cue that I haven't yet watched and tons more I would most likely enjoy but are only mildly interested in based on the description.

@Eldgrim Economics will definitely play a roll (they always do) but I really think that it might be Playstation's time this go round. We had a PS2 in the house but never made the jump. I was planning on jumping on a PS3 when it get's really cheap but I think maybe I'll go straight to the PS4 this generation and give the x-box a rest. The WiiU is not even in the equation at all I hate to say, I LOVE my 3ds and have had every Nintendo console since the first but I just can't justify the purchase when there's nothing compelling me to play.

Good show, I'm gonna try and keep up on your episodes. Salient points as well. I do sense a shift in the air with Microsoft this generation, I think their initial "this is what it is and it sucks and we're shoving it right down your throat" initial announcement has done them more lasting damage than they even realize. They will backtrack on these crap policies and plans because they are crap policies and plans and not because the buyers demand it, but I think there are a lot of gamers, myself included, that are simply ready for a change to something different this time around and Playstation 4 seems like just the ticket. The exclusives simply aren't compelling enough to assure brand loyalty any more (as much as I loved the last Halo I;'m looking at you)and no offense to the x-box diehards but there's a whole x-box online :"culture" that has become like a ICP/Limp Bizkit double bill and like going one-too-many times to the Chinese buffet I've really had enough.

I've never been able to get into the console version of B2 but a Vita version actually makes me want to buy a Vita. I've been waiting for a compelling reason, this could be it. Not gonna Vita bash and 3ds bluster tho I love my 3ds I'd really love to own both.

You know, Ubisoft had no problem whatsoever getting all the free publicity Nintendo gave them leading up to the WiiU release by aggrandizing their game only to turn around and crap all over the system and the fans by juking them on the release. Gamers should show a little solidarity and not buy this game on any system and let it rot on the shelf for the way they F'd all the WiiU owners. I love the way they couldn't get their game out anywhere near the release of the console and then when the WiiU dies on the vine, because idiots like them didn't support it, they screw the company by grousing about how they "can't make any money" off the WiiU and completely diss it. I have never seen a more blatant example of douchery in all my days and the only thing worse than what they did are the pathetic losers that keep holding out for Beyond Good and Evil 2 as if it even matters at all anymore. F that game and F Ubisoft I say, what-modelling a character without arms and legs is clever somehow?
