In my opinion, games can never be too realistic or imitate everything in real life experience. it was just meant to be fun, as in gamers will enjoy. Adding elements that will somewhat make it look "realistic" was just to add more fun to the whole experience. These companies are doing their best to give the best experience or fun to the gamers who likes this type of game (fps) while keeping an "authentic" idea.
