@MJ12-Conspiracy: It would be great to see some old franchises brought back, there's plenty to choose from!

It doesn't need to be 1st party, though. 2nd party studios like Playground Games have already proven their worth.

They should dial down the exclusive announcer; maybe just announce exclusive when it is only Xbox/Windows 10 and leave it as an on screen only thing for launch exclusives.

The 'it's not an exclusive because it's on PC' is a tired argument that I can't agree with you on. The games are launched on the Microsoft Store (what used to be the Windows Store) on Microsoft's two platforms: Windows 10 and Xbox. They aren't on any other console and few make it to Steam. Sony could take note and make their own PlayStation Store on PC and sell their games on it, but they would rather sell consoles than add another choice for gamers.

@mersad: You can buy a PS4 if you want to play their exclusives or buy an Xbox to play their exclusives. Same with PC and Switch. Why discount Xbox because it doesn't have the games you want to play, but not any other platforms?

Millions of people have bought Xbox's over the competition, millions have bought another platform over Xbox, that's consumer choice. PS4, PC and Switch all have exclusives that people aren't interested in, or are interested in too few to warrant buying the console/PC for.

Singling out Xbox is just weird. It doesn't have the number of exclusives PS4 has, but it still has exclusives gamers love playing.

@dacontag: That is true, that was with the 70 million PS4 sales announcement wasn't it. That's still around 3% of the user base and we don't know usage figures. Kinect 2.0 sold better and it's now dead.

@flow__show: Microsoft are invested in VR, but they're letting Windows 10 see the innovations or mistakes first. VR is currently not a big market at all, with Sony selling over 1 million PSVR units and beating Oculus and Vive in sales. That's a paltry number to invest big in yet.

They have already said they won't release a VR headset until it is fully wireless and there's a better use of the tech from game developers. AR is a better option and they were already thinking of this before the Xbox One was announced (according to the leaked papers), so being patient here will reap the best rewards.

@pouloman: The fact is PUBG beat AAA games to an award, even in early access, and was nominated for game of the year above other top games.

Fortnite Battle Royale is a great game, but it's not trying to achieve the same scale PUBG is. You can enjoy both on their own merits.

@pouloman: PUBG went up against Fortnite for 'Best Multiplayer' in The Game Awards and won, also beating Call of Duty: WWII and Destiny 2.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild beat PUBG for 'Game of the Year', which Fortnite wasn't nominated for.

@Xristophoros: That's not the facts and reality of the situation though, so your ounce of knowledge is lacking.

The reality is that Microsoft designed the Xbox One chipset with Xbox 360 backwards compatibility in mind. It's the combination of the hardware and software. Sony didn't plan for backwards compatibility for PS3 when designing PS4, so that's why they don't offer it beyond PS Now.

Eurogamer had the info on this: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-xbox-one-x-back-compat-how-does-it-actually-work

The funny thing is removing the online requirement for Xbox One leading up to launch delayed the backwards compatibility of 360 games, yet for PS4 you have to be online to play PS3 games on it (the same with 4K films on PS4 Pro).

@LasDK: They are saying this is Xbox's best month ever, which will include all Xbox console launches. It doesn't support your incorrect assumptions that the Xbox is not doing well, simple as that. Where's your proof that sales have slowed "way down"?

Garbage? See this is why mpl911 accused you of being an Xbox hater. Those games are far from garbage and you should know that. Otherwise, where are the PS4 exclusive games in the same category that are much better?

The Xbox needs an update to support Dolby Vision, but Dolby charges a licensing fee which will put the price of the console up. That's why there's a paid Dolby Atmos app to use it in headphones. They can add support, but they will likely need to charge through an app. No extra hardware is required. Dolby Vision isn't the standard on UHD Blu-ray. It's either HDR10 or Dolby Vision, so it is completely disc dependant. You need to look that up.

That sounds anecdotal as none of mine, my friends or family have fan noise playing UHD discs with either the S or X.

Where are you getting your information from? UHD Blu-Rays cost less than half of a game. There's nothing wrong with the UI for Xbox when playing a disc, it's just an overlay of the disc controls. Similar to what a dedicated player has. Physical media is still doing well, despite the onslaught of streaming media, as streaming can't offer the same AV quality as disc. Until that changes, discs will continue to sell.

@LasDK: The thing is, it is stated in this article that November was Xbox's best ever month so your "facts" don't hold up.

Scalebound and Fable Legends definitely weren't the most anticipated Xbox One titles. Far from it. Gamers were actually annoyed that there wasn't a new Fable 4 game (and Legends was playable in Beta too). Scalebound didn't have the hype that it now has after it was cancelled.

Most 4K Blu Rays are mastered with HDR10, as are games, so you won't get the use of Dolby Vision anyway. That's an industry thing, not just Xbox. Dolby Vision may come to Xbox at a later date, same as Dolby Atmos did, but the discs and games will still be in HDR10 so it won't change that fact.

@darkelf83: Sony are the worst at lying about what you're getting! Their adverts either say 4K gaming or dynamic 4K gaming. Look at what Digital Foundry report on, they have the Pro pegged at a 1440p machine. That's 44% of 4K, so why does Sony put 4K in their marketing?

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-what-does-the-mgs5-ps4-pro-upgrade-actually-do

"Yes, it's yet another PlayStation 4 Pro upgrade that delivers 1440p, with little else added to the mix."

"But right now, with MGS5, 1440p it is. Again."

This is from the people that analyse games for a living, and they're bemoaning how often they see 1440p on the Pro. It's like saying a console that can't even reach 720p is dynamic 1080p.
