"Asked directly why they changed the combat, Barlog replied, "Because we have made seven games with that combat system." That's a pretty good reason.

Look, I'm not going to put down the ideas this game has because I think they look cool but if you have to say all of these things for damage control over people that have followed the series since it's conception then that seems to come off as a "lack of confidence". Most of the great games I've seen didn't have to have this "But, but but look at this!" or "Just buy the game & you'll see!". If you have confidence in what you created then the game will sell it's self.

@zmanbarzel: Um that's kinda how you're supposed to draw conclusions. Look at all available evidence & then draw a viable conclusion. You seem to also assume I'm just looking at gamespot here. This has been going on a little over 5 years now since quite a bit of this started all over the internet. You seemed to have missed that offhand comment I made at the end of my post. Are we just picking out whatever we want to now? Not exactly a great way to draw conclusions when you're only looking at a fraction of the equation right?

While there is a point to be made that you cannot draw an "ultimate" conclusion due to some people not saying anything, it appears there's evidence of many of them often times expressing their opinion when they aren't "politically satisfied". Most of the time they respond to people who aren't happy with the status quo or complain when a certain form of entertainment doesn't meet their criteria.

@arigoldstein88: I remember when everyone was having fun & were talking about how excited they were for game releases. I also remember the people who worked for these websites were the same way & loved games.

@zmanbarzel: Aloevera pretty much got ya. They are venting in the comment threads just like you did now. I read threads, I don't know about you but I read a lot of them. That's how I draw my conclusions. It also doesn;t hurt that this has been a pattern for nearly what? 5 years now?

From looking at the comment section I would have to say people are getting real tired of all of this virtue signaling rhetoric & just want to love video games again. This has grown into such a terrible issue where people are alienating others within their own hobby. I'm sorry but I remember the days when people used to call so many of us losers, geeks, nerds, weak pieces of shit all because we loved video games & we were "weird" & "taboo" because of it. All this is doing is turning people against one another & hurting people who just want to love their hobby & turning them into the very people they hated. So please just stop this.

@vhiran: Then they're being peer pressured & bullied. Maybe if that's how they feel about it then they should probably take break from it all & try to find more happier & less hectic area to talk about what they love.
