We can only hope that Sony has learned a valuable lesson here. For the PS4, we want the best gaming console Sony can provide, but don't add any features that increase the price while not adding to the gaming experience.

Sensor buttons $$

Card Reader $$

Linux OS Capabilities $

Previous Generation Chip $$$ (Use software emulation or some other method)

The initial cost of the PS3 hurt the system bad and now it's getting what I think should have been the original offering from Sony. A very capable console at a good price.

Sorry. When a game gives the players that much creative ability and they build the game on a Community platform where you can get noticed or become a star based on your level designs. I don't see would not be excited about it.

The side scroll Platformer is deep in the roots of all gamers and you now basically get to design your own.

Why not be excited.

Exclusives are becoming more and more rare in a world where games cost Millions to develop. This means that First Party games is where the console makers will need to distinguish themselves from the other.

I also belive that if your console is as good as you claim, you should never pay for Exclusive DLC on your console. This is a cheap way to drive sales to your console vs. the other. Just make good games, keep First party exclusives coming that make gamers want your console and let the games do the talking.

It is big money business, but I also think it says allot about the console maker when they don't think it's good enough on it's own.

The developer came on record saying they did what they could to make the PS3 version the same as the others, but the problem is that they still are learning how to program for the PS3.

Well, I played and finished Farcry twice and really enjoyed the game. It was a solid game with great reviews. If Farcry 2 is as good as the first one with better graphics, I think it's hard not to think it will be a great game.

If they add game play mechanics that push FC2 to the next level, we will even be more better off.

I would not say that I am sitting around waiting for this game to come out, but I would be very interested in buying it when it does, or at least after I read the reviews. :-)

I can't think of why any gamer would buy a game and not finish it. I am not saying must must only play that game until it's finished before you get another. But you should always finish any game you where willing to pay good money for.

I guess my PS3 is different. I don't hear much of anything from mine. My OTHER console is a different story.

If it get's out of hand, I would call support.

10 Year cycle does not mean it will be 10 years before the PS4 is out. The PS2 is also on a 10 year cycle and games are made for it to this day. So with this in mind, the PS4 can be out in the next 4 to 5 years. That will put it's life at about 6 years. Development for the PS3 will continue while the PS4 is released.

As far as what the PS4 should have. Don't know. Allot of new tech from here to there. One smart thing to do is not change the programing of the system. Now that developers are understanding how to do this well. Don't change it. Just give it more power, resources and additions, but keep the coding unchanged as much as possible.

Eliminate the learning curve every cycle and we will have a winner.

As Beta's go, this is what we do. We play, complain and hope they fix.

Right now the two most important things for me are:

1. Hit Detection

2. Lag

If Slant Six can get these two things down right, Then we will have a winner. The way I look at it. All other issues can be fixed or updated with patches, but Hit Detection and Lag are serious issues that can continue to ruin a game experience.

I have been playing since day one and yes it was bad. It's improved now, but still bad. I had my first SOCOM Dance last night. I ran around a guy as we both shot each other with full clips and no one died. A third person had to jump in and take me out of my mysery. LOL

Let's hope for the best. I sure want SOCOM to be good. Trust me. I am with the Sea Snipers and even if I am retired now. lol

Sorry to hear you have issues. My PS3 has always worked great for me, even during long 6 hour gaming runs. If you are having issues, make sure you don't return this to some other poor gamer who will eventually get your old system. :-)

I have the 40GB model and will be buying me a 350GB Hard Disk to put into it or larger if they have them available yet.
