Yeah its HD ready but im using a vga connector.

The brand is AOC (yes it was cheap xD)

so any ideas of a good resolution that fits it? tried all the default ones but they looked streached.

I also used HDMI wire once and it allowed me to use 1680 x 1050 on games, but refresh rate sucked badly being at 30hrz and couldn't change it because of HD ready...

I tried all types of ratios but 16:10 fits best.Tried the 16:9 everything looks streached, same with 4:3, and its not with just one game.. all the dx9 games i play (call of duty 4, borderlands, left 4 dead etc)

maybe it has something to do with the monitor being a TV that supports PC and not an actual PC monitor... but still strange that DX10 resolution fits perfectly.

Tried that still nothing... in-game i was able to set the 1440 x 900 on both 60 and 75, and on DX10 1650 x 1050 both 60 and 75 are available

I have always had this problem and never got int why it happens, searched google but no help.

Using a 22inch monitor (16:10) and its recommended resolution is 1680 x 1050 (75hz) which fits like a charm... but to use it i had to create it in the Nvidia control panel. I also had to tick the 'enable resolutions not exposed by the display' thing. Tried loads off difrent resolution like 1600 x 1200 or 1600 x 900 which are default, but the display would look horrible.

The problem is that when im in-game settings choosing a reslotion im only not allowed to use1680 x 1050, and ending up using 1440 x 900 (also created in the Nvidia CP but didn't need to tick the'enable resolutions not exposed by the display')which is a decent resolution to show on the monitor, but its quite annoying to play some old games which have no AA settings and seeing more jagged edges. Also note that strangly enough DX10 games allow me to use 1680 x 1050 and not allowing the 1440 x 900.

Using win7 (had the same prob on Vista.. never tried on XP) and an 8800GT OC

Anyone know the fix on how to use the1680 x 1050 on DX9 games?
