Most of the length of the blade was dull except for the tip. But for the most part a - nice sword. It may be a replica but it's a nice one and ranks higher than other swords I've bought. I feel the difference between this, and my other pieces simply by holding it, the blade thickness, weight, and all around feeling of being well-built in both handle and blade, I make the comparison of holding a chefs knife to a steel handled, full tang machete. Very well balanced. Good weight, good feel to it. Well balanced and sharp. I know the blade passed the paper test, the sword is well balanced and it is a very nice looking sword. I haven't tested this sword yet, but it seem like the craftsmanship is very nice and durable for intermediate price tag. It's a really nice sword, seems put together well,(solid).
Really a truly, beautiful while a fully functional and a battle ready sword. It is high quality all the way, and I really like the thickness of the blade from the hand guard to the tip. The sword I received arrived in a quality printed Musashi package that demonstrated more care than is typical of similar products on the market that come in a generic brown box billowing packing peanuts. I wish I could give this seller more than 5 stars. I own a few swords, this one however is my favorite. I will however keep it and attempt to buff out the rust then sharpen. 4th Katana ordered from HandmadeSwords and will continue to order from site! All must bow before the this ninja and his deadly red blade. There are rust spots about 2 inches long on the face of the blade. It appears as if the katana had been stored for a very long time or handled much before it was sold to me. Im satisfied with this purchased and I'm happy that I have a decent katana sword for my first time collection..I would recommend this to anyone interested for 1st time sword buyer who can't afford the handmade Japanese sword. It's a little bit lighter than an average wooden bokken of the same size would be, but with none of the splintering that is an issue with wood. If you look at the question and answer section for this sword someone asked if you can cut a watermelon. In some months I will look for the Emperor sword. 5 others (3 from LQ-Swords) Customer service is great, the swords are amazing and i look forward to buting more swords from this seller.
I've tried several other products (all more expensive), but this one is exceptional. This is a heavy sword but seems well made and strong! Very well made. No loose fittings and razor sharp. Only the fittings are cheaply made. This sword was bought to give away to the winner of the Kumite that I host each year. This ia a real sword, not a cheap wall hanger. Cut so clean. Katana was not bent nor damaged from shipping. What can i say, This is a true katana. First off pictures don't do this sword justice. I don't think you can find a better sword for the money. Arrived on time. 토토 out of the box . Super sharp. Now I clear my house in style like a man. Super fast shipping and great packaging. The blade is super sharp and nothing on the sword looks or feels cheap. Someone answered that the Damascus lines are just a decal that can be removed with chemicals.
