As a true anarchist, punk rocker and transgressive artist (I got the prohibitive skinny jeans and plenty of other affectations to prove it), I want the games to be the underdog medium of creativity and heterogeneous artistic vision. Sorry to burst my own bubble: art is dead, it is now interior design with its intellectual reference of a revision of a reference. Good for childish giggles and fritz, but just a type entertainment that makes you feel like you're part of the most clever generation of virtual giants ever. Actually games shouldn't aspire to have a more liberal and "artistic" socioeconomic ethics; if anything they should aspire to be self-important, bloated and commercial, and not in any way ironic or campy. Dead serious kitsch, for people tired of sneaky double and triple dog dare you irony. That's why I like Mass Effect and Michael Bay movies. Not in a guilty pleasure kind of way, nor in any nostalgic way either -- as if I were smart enough to long for the simpler, stupider times of repressive manipulation of narrative. p.s. I like watching soap operas without a shred of facetious humor. I'm in it for the plot, the patricians and the plebeians.
