@SkarpHedin and that's the problem ... these companies are so money hungry that they are constantly looking for more ways to drain us of ours. can't they be happy with selling 6.3 million copies in a week at $60 each? other companies don't have auction houses and they still have servers up for multiplayer

@Albelnox0 @SkarpHedin ok, but which auction house do you expect to get more use?

@SkarpHedin ya but blizzard is taking a cut of each sale so it's not exactly like buying it from another player. it really is another shameless way to take more of our money. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/services/auction-house/info#q14

ya but blizzard is collecting a fee off of each sale ... they claim that the fee is there to stop ppl from flooding the market with spam but i'm sure that the extra money they are making is also a factor. It's just one more shameless way to hit us up for more cash. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/services/auction-house/info#q14

doesn't look as though this game is doing anything new for the genre but having a portable dungeon crawler on my 3DS with drop in multiplayer and voice chat might be worth the buck ... will have to wait for reviews to see what the verdict is.

IGN just gave it a 5.5 so I'm not surprised that they feel they need to lie.

this looks cool and all but I think we're all wanting some Half Life news from Valve more than anything else

@robfield you're absolutely correct but that fact is that is difficult for the average gamer to not buy into these schemes when they are forced upon us. if you want a full gaming experience then you have to buy at least some DLC's (in most cases anyways). I mean once you beat a great game aren't you often left wanting more? And I know what you're thinking .. a great game shouldn't leave you with that feeling but, that being said, after beating a game that you really love it's hard to not want to keep playing isn't it? I guess the strategy would be to buy into valuable DLC's (like Undead Nightmare for example) while shunning the others to teach devs a lesson. The problem is that it is extremely difficult to get a wide audience to support this idea especially when a large portion of gamers are pre-teens that don't actually pay for any of this sh*t! it's a really tough situation as the gaming publishers aren't giving us a choice really .. well, not the big publishers anyways.

Great article and I totally agree. I have no problem with small DLC packs as long as they are truly additional content. It seems like publishers are making the "$60 game experience" more and more dumbed down just so they can charge you for content and features that should have been included in the first place. Take a look at RDR from Rockstar ... they saw the need for coop missions so they provided that for free. And now, since the online community has been so supportive, they are giving us more free DLC in the coming months. On the other hand, if you want to try something a little different, you can shell out the small extra fee for Undead Nightmare. This is a pack that doesn't necessarily fit in with the theme of the rest of the game btu the option to get it is there if you want to try it out and you get a lot of content for your additional $10 which is completely fair! Then you have shameless DLC packs like DA2: Legacy that includes content that really would have fit into the original experience and should have been there in the first place. And now they are trying to introduce subscription based services like COD:Elite that unlock additional features that should have been there in the first place? It's getting crazy. The problem is that more and more companies are looking for ways to milk us for extra cash and I for one am becoming resentful of major publishers like Activision for giving us all the metaphorical shaft.
