Hi

Bought my PAL 40GB less than a week ago and have a quick technical query but first have to have a rant.

1) Buy a game, put in drive, play. Surely thats how its supposed to be? Not with PS3. Just waited 20 mins to "install" GT5 Prologue now been waiting 20 mins or so for update to reach about 33%. (As I finish typing this post it has just failed with an error)

2) Updates generally. Woefully slow. XBOX360 updates no problemo.

3) 40GB? I understand that when (if?) I finally get to play GT5 Prologue it will have used approx 6GB of my disk space. I didn't download the game, I bought the disk!!! It is very good for Sony to allow HD upgrades but still extra expense.

4) Singstar - microphone delay and echo (which leads me to my technical query). Are BD/DVD settings just for films? Or for games on BD also? If so what is the Sound settings menu for? I want to play around with bitsream etc to see if it fixes my problems.

Not looking to start format war discussion. I own all 3 platforms.

Just got my 360 back after Red Ring of Death.

Fair play to Microsoft (UK), it has been away only 10 days and come back with new DVD Drive and new Motherboard which I feel is an acceptable turn around especially as I was warned that it could have been 25 working days (5 weeks).

I have missed it. If it dies again I will be forced to buy a spare. Just wondering if the person who coined the phrase "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" ever envisaged it being applied to an Xbox360?
