i find this a pointless article coming from an editor on a games website. as long as it is a game, then reality would have to be altered for purposes of entertainment. if i wanted reality out of shooting, then i would join the military; if its reality out of an open world game, well im already living it; or reality out of a racing game, then id aspire to be the next Alonso or something.
reality is already restrictive enough as it is. if Tom's view point is to be the standard, then down with movies, television or other forms of electronic entertainment, because they aren't "real" enough.....
id pick a game because of the entertainment value i get from it, and because for the duration that i would sit down playing it, i just want to forget about the REALITY of daily living.
at this rate, the next dirt game will be showcasing NASCAR!!!! then they shall proceed to call it "world championship/ event".......... Does codemasters need to be reminded that they started this series on the name of the legendary rally ace Colin McRae?!!! Not mentioning other rally greats like Travis Pastrana and Ken Block. At the least rename it and stop trying to milk out on what DIRT has/ had been...A GREAT RALLY GAME!!!
@ grey_fox1984 :just had to say i fully agree with what you say. and also as much as i may try to sympathise with the gamespot reviewers, this article is like going to your boss and giving excuses why your job isnt well done.
any so called negative publicity by media, this case fox news, just helps push sales for the game...recall the bad vibe GTA4 got for being a violent game, its sales were off the roof.. so continue bad mouthing it, we shall just buy it,even if to just find out what all the fuss is about
