is there some avant-garde irony im just too much of a conformist to get? because far as i can tell someone honestly thought this was a good idea. i know star wars fans can get insane with the adherence to source material, but there is a thick, obvious line between "fun parody" and "awful, terrible, utterly failed attempt to branch out".

one of the most believable sci-fi gaem series, yes.... or, it was until the terminator baby and star child, at least.

@giygas07 so what is the central point? im not discounting the issue of hype-machine marketing taking no heed to spoiling the actual product, im saying that bringing it up in bioshock's marketing is stupid. they've released three vids vaguely describing some enemy types, that is hardly the most egregious use of exciting spoilers used for marketing. this isnt a problem with gaming, its a problem with advertising in general. movies are much, much worse in this department, often showing clips from the final action scene and showing you all the best parts of the movie in the preview so that the only thing new when you actually see it is the mediocre bits. moreover, this article completely contradicts itself, saying that they should leave things to interpretation, then saying it should stand on its own merits. A PLAYER"S INTERPRETATION IS NOT THE GAME"S OWN MERITS. it honestly comes off as a thinly veiled attempt to shove their ME3 opinions down our throat some more with a completely unnecessary article calling for things to be "open to interpretation" because a certain executive producer of a certain failed series ending said something similar recently in his defense.

welcome to the club of everyone who remembers the previews of se7en. the issue of hype taking precedence over spoilers is neither new nor at all exclusive or even notably present in bioshock infinite. how are incredibly broad descriptions of enemy types the thing that gets you to talk about this? gamespot really seems to be finding the wrong issues in things lately.
