Just recently started and beat Manhunt 2, unfortunately "beat" came too soon after "started". Wish there was more time between the two, but that's how it goes with new games.

Will be re-starting Zelda: A Link to the Past on my F-twin. Feelin' old school today.

I realized something awful about periferals, too. That they are making the Wii less and less appealing to me.

Nintendo cant release all their hardware to 3rd party Devs. Nintendo makes money off 2 things consoles and the software they make that goes on those consoles thats it really . They release it to everyone right away and other people take it make games that people like better then nintendos and nintendo doesnt make as much money. This way they can make money off a few games b4 everyone else does. Nintendo needs 3 party support but they are also in competition with them as well webbut

I hope that's not what they're doing. The only thing Nintendo can hope to accomplish with that is to make as much money as they can by selling add-on devices while the system is still "hot." This would mean that Nintendo doesn't plan to fully support this system anymore, just to squeeze as much money as they can out of the people who have already bought it. The other companies, Microsoft and Sony, welcome 3rd party support because they know good 3rd party games will draw people into the fold of buying the system, because of the depth and breadth of games available. And once you have that library out there, people will be buying those systems for years to come. For example, people still buy ps2's because of the amount of good games available for it. Anyway, what I'm saying is that Nintendo needs good 3rd party support now more than ever. Or, really, WE need good 3rd party support now more than ever, as Wii owners.

It seems like Nintendo is trying to keep the 3rd party devs out of the loop. That makes no sense. It's irritating to me, becuase I like the 3rd party games better.

The games, third party or otherwise. Initially I was disappointed in the hardware, but a couple good quality games have made up for it (zelda, re:4, mario galaxy)

Oh yeah, I forgot to rant about the controllers. God, don't get me started on that.

I agree, Okami is good, but I played it on PS2. That was actually the specific game I was thinking of when I refered to old PS2 ports (Bully is another one). I played through Paper Mario (GC) and Super Paper Mario, RE:4, Trauma Center, No More Heroes, Twilight Princess, Harry Potter, Manhunt 2, Prince of Persia, Raving Rabbids, and others that escape my mind at the moment.. I have not played Brawl; I really have rented a lot of games. I don't know how to hammer this point home enough to prove my dedication to the Wii. I NEVER rented this many games on the PS2 or any other system I've owned. I was happy with the select few games I purchased. The difference is now I'm trying as many games as possible (and beating many of them) just to give the Wii a fair shake, and I'm continually disapointed. That was my main point, not just the graphics. Hell, I love my old school systems, so I don't think graphics are really the most important thing to me. I can't be the only person who is disapointed in the games that are coming out for the Wii...

I have been needing to get this off my chest for a while now: I am deeply disappointed in the Wii. It seemed like such a great idea when it first came out, and now I'm ready to throw it out the window. (as opposed to selling it, which would stick some other poor soul with it, and I'm not that cruel.)

I have rented many Wii games and I haven't had the desire to purchase any of them. Many of the games out there for the Wii just seem thrown together. Many new games come to the Wii almost as an afterthought, significantly downgraded by comparison to their XBOX and PS3 counterparts (understandably.) And others are just ports from the ps2 (which I already own.) Most of the ones that are exclusive for the Wii aren't really that great . I thought Zelda was awesome, but in retrospect I realize that means I paid 300 bucks for the new Zelda game. That sucks. (to be fair, I haven't tried every single game yet, but does anyone? I know I'll like Metroid, but could it be good enough to redeem the system for me? Probably not)

Initially, I was disappointed that the Wii games looked more like PS2 games. I know the technology is better, but how worthwhile is it to introduce a new system if the games look like they were made for a system that is 8 years old? Super Mario Galaxy is pretty impressive visually, but it's just too cutesy for my taste. That franchise lost me at Paper. And what's with all these new accessory-based games? How many boxes of old video game accessories do I really need in my closet? It's already pretty full of N64 controllers.

My point is that the Wii has been out long enough for us to be seeing some shining examples of what the Wii is all about. I hope the best is yet to come, but how long do we have to wait? The other major systems already have some games tasty enough to make die hard Wiibles wobble on down to the store and buy a different system.
