RFLOL! I wonder what will Blizzard fanboys say when they watch this??? "no no! Overwatch is so much better with 5 colors outdated graphics, no physics and an awesome objective for each map dat is "Stay in a square"!!!"
Omg. Blizzard Blizzard Blizzard. Gamespot will ask twice the price for their review after people watch Battlefield 1 trailer!
Since the game is too simple and lacks a huge amount of depth, you may wonder why this ain't a F2P game?
Well, first, Blizzard wanted to make this game a F2P game. The low budget look, overly basic "stay in the square" objectives and mainly the loot box give it away. But what happened, why it became a paid game?
Here's the main reason: They realized that they can't earn money from this game by making it F2P.
Reasons:
1. Not enough Heroes. They did the same and failed with HotS. But this time they don't have the budget to pay reviews and organize tournaments to push the game.
2. They can't sell Skins in a FPS game.
3. Repetitive action will make you forget the game after 2 days.
So their new strat is to sell it as a full retailed game and expect a "your friends play it, you should to".
I tried the Beta. The game is fun like 5 min and that's it. Gets boring really fast, the objectives are a joke. (Stay in a square for a time. seriously?). Action is pure chaos. This game is from an Era way behind today's game like Rainbow Six Siege.
That technology was already out 10 years ago. It was called "Onlive" and it worked quiet well. But of course fx card manufacturer, Intel, and other hardware manufacturers didn't like that, so they blocked the project and threatened gaming companies not to support Onlive.
Result: They killed Onlive, and now they keep telling people that it's a technology far far away.
I hate this game. Dunno why but every aspect of it is trying so hard to please everyone that it's repulsive. Heroes trying to be cute with a Disney look is overly irritating.
The gameplay is chaotic, the look of the game as the effects and UI is a mess. Unless you're a hyperactive 15 years old expecting nothing from a game and shallow as Blizzard itself, then this game is not for you.
And the fact that there's an "Objective" doesn't make this a team game. It's just 6 heroes throwing whatever ability they got to the other team as fast as they can, and when there's a window, they just stand in an area which somehow is the objective. (a weird car standing in the middle of nowhere, or a wagon dat has to go from somewhere). They didn't even bother trying to put a background story whatsoever. "This car will go from point A to point B! Shoot everyone around it!". That's overwatch for you.
Don't expect something deep as in Rainbow Siege or Counter Strike where you can do tactics and have a strat.
You don't need any strat or tactics in Overwatch. Just pick a Hero. If you feel it's the wrong one, pick another for the next spawn, which is only 8 seconds away.
Blizzard tried to salvage a huge project by making a "FPS/MOBA/Team Fortress" game, whatever you wanna call it, but they failed hard.
@Kiyosuyo: Balance?? Balance issues??? Dude, you can't even see what heroes are on the screen! The game is unorganized, a complete mess! Try play Rainbow Siege once, you'll see what I mean!
You'd expect some team work with all heroes with different abilities... But no. All you get when you play Overwatch is hero abilities on your face 24/7.
This game is the most unintelligent game ever. Unless your a hyperactive 15 years old blizz fanboy, AVOID immediately!!!
Played Ovewatch Open Beta. If Overwatch gets more than 6, then paid reviews are more than obvious. The game sucks like hell. It's a mess, No weight, no precision, it's a chaos of color where you don't even understand what is happening. Maybe years ago it would have been a Hit. But not in this century.
this game is gonna be such a flop. Each time I watch an Overwatch video, all i see is a mess of colored UI, chaotic action where you can't understand who is who and does what, and really badly rendered sounds.
This game would have been great like 10 years ago maybe.
