*Sigh* pre-Disney this might have been exciting. Now I'm just wondering if they'll make the female Revan Black or Asian, and if they'll ship her with Juhani, Mission, Bastila, or HK-47 re-imagined with a female voice.

@Bread_or_Decide: I know I'll better appreciate it when it gets de-canonized. As a Star Wars spoof it's actually quite funny.

@calgamer1: Sure

https://io9.gizmodo.com/a-brief-history-of-star-wars-canon-old-and-new-1683320381

To Quote Wikipedia: "C-canon was Continuity canon: Most of the material from the Expanded Universe including books, comics, and video games. The creation of stories that introduced radical changes in the continuity, like The Force Unleashed video game (which introduced Darth Vader's secret apprentice), required Lucas's approval, and he spent hours explaining the character relationships to the developers."

@calgamer1: You realize that the story for The Force Unleashed was written by George Lucas, Right?

I'm not a fan of the Force Unleashed, but it was considered Canon. Same with the Old Republic games, the Dark Forces / Jedi Knight Games, Rogue Squadron Games, ext. Books and comics too.

Games like Super Bombad Racing and the Kinect dancing game obviously weren't, but the story groups did their best to fit things into the lore.

At this point Disney only considers the movies and TV shows as part of It's canon.

@calgamer1: Pre-Disney games were usually Canon as well, and yet they were able loan out the license no problem.

@jenovaschilld: It might have more to do with the recent announcement by Disney that Star Wars as a brand is currently hemorrhaging (Disney's 2018 Annual Report). And that Star Wars Toys were the most returned gifts from Christmas. I'm sure things like Fallout 76's collapse didn't help, but I think they see the writing on the wall that the cash cow has been milked to death.

@consolehaven: it's not happening in a vacuum though, you have to keep in mind what they're replacing and the effect the stories have on the franchise as a whole. Given how well pretty much this exact same story line was done in the pre-Disney continuity, providing an outline for how to do it, there's no excuse for the terrible execution.

Darn, I was really hoping to see if Star Wars 76 could have outdone Fallout. Probably would have been less bugs but WAY more predatory monetization.
