@horizonwriter: point is i wouldn't of called the original Zelda open world. Was still fairly linear in ways of progression (items to progress etc). Whereas Elite, being a game of that time which was open world. LTTP or WW probably hits that more, but again needed items to progress through certain elements.
So the answer is no- i didnt forget. I was merely replying to a comment.
@aross2004: It was a combo of storytelling, characters and gameplay as to why people didn't really tune into it.
