After Generals... I've lost faith in C&C, but Supreme Commander looks like it might give a new outlook on the RTS experience.... I'm also looking forward to more Warhammer 40K Expansions.... there are still more race to toy with and the last three have been solid and stellar games...

Hey... I wanted to first say that I'm sorry that I've been so argumentative. You are correct the NPD does not tell the whole story and that the PC market is likely bigger that it reports because of downloads and so forth . All along I've said that the PC is not doomed because of consoles. Also, we both want PC gaming to continue to thrive as I definitely enjoy it a ton. Part of my argument is that the PC is a vast market that is stretched across several architecture capabilities. In other words there are many PC's that have low to moderate power that could somewhat be compared to an Xbox in terms of power and then there are people with higher end PC's that have power more comparable to a 360. The varied but vast PC market is both an opportunity and a challenge for developers. Deciding which market segment to build for takes many of the same considerations as a develoepr deciding to build a game for the PS2, Xbox, Xbox360 or all three. take it easy and I'll try not to be so argumentative from here on out. Now off to play some more Supreme Commander!!! DuaneDog
Take it easy and you're fine...

[QUOTE="nerd_rock_riot"]NDP is seriously flawed but as said most forcasts are made based on their numbers so it does hurt the industry in a way... In response to the gaming rig rant... yeah some people have really old machines with no memory and crap video cards and they can't run some next gen games... but how is that different than a new console ever five years.... most of my hard ware was up to eight years old when i upgraded my machine... and i could have stretched it out longer had my mobo not crapped out.... mismajor99
Financial forecasts can be made with the console market. Not so much with the PC gaming market. If companies based their PC Gaming projections off of NPD sales figures, why does the PC continue to get the most games every year compared to any one console? Because companies know that the NPD doesn't count the PC gaming industry to it's fullest extent. If the NPD US retail figures were used only, we wouldn't see half of the innovation we see today. Also, Profit margins are usually much higher with the PC, which is always a plus.

Chill dude...

Thank both of you for enjoying one of the most underrated PC games, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines,  to come out in a while...

I believe that DX10 will takeover the consoles, also unlike consoles, PC's are frequently upgraded.Don_Shadio
I believe that DX10 will be great, but not worth the $1000 it will cost you as a consumer... until there is no possible way to play games in DX9 mode... i won't buy into it.... but DX10 hardware slays in DX9 performance
